Some context for this, for anyone not me or Jade, the Voltron Force epilogue is an angst pit. This is an au we’ve talked about, and made each other upset about a lot. 1. The Force blames themselves for Daniel losing his voice2. The Force didn’t realize he /couldn’t/ talk for a few days, just thought he wouldn’t speak to them. 3. The Force eventually find Dan, but it’s an accident, and he’s there to fuck their shit. (He doesn’t, there’s a lot of crying though)4. Everyone learns sign language. 5. Vince and Larmina are v. protective now. They lost Dan for at least a year, and they can’t do it again.

So hear me out for a second, Trans!boy Daniel. He idolizes the pilots, Keith especially because they're the model of hero-guys. He looks up to them because they inspire him to be himself.

Voltron Force Headcannon #1 Daniel isn't human. No one knows what he is for sure, just that he's not native to earth. The kids got purple eyes.
