Daniel 6:16 (ESV) - Then the king commanded, and Daniel was brought and cast into the den of lions. The king declared to Daniel, “May Your God, whom you serve continually, deliver you!”

He will deliver you

So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, "Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you." (Daniel 6:16, NKJV)

This is climax of the story of Daniel and the lions den. Pretty much, Daniel was awesome and some people were jealous of his relationship with the king, so had him thrown in a den with some hungry lions. Usually you'd be gone by morning but God saved him by shutting the lion's mouths and he went on to do some more awesome stuff.

This is a really good example of trusting that God knows what He's doing. And in this case, it's by someone who doesn't technically believe in God. Daniel knew that this was probably going to happen. He did break the law and was pretty open about it. Even the king, and they were pretty good mates, couldn't get Daniel out of the den. But Daniel trusted that God had a plan and that it would all be all right. and (spoiler alert), it was.

I love that it is the king, who made the law and is condemning Daniel to the lions den, is the one who is saying "it's going to be fine. Your God has got this". The bible doesn't really say how Daniel was feeling going into the den, but I can imagine that it would be terrifying. Having someone tell me that God is going to save me, would be reassuring. 

The other thing that I think is important is "whom your serve continually". Daniel kept praying to God, even after it was made illegal making no attempts to hide it. He kept serving God. Its probably something that most Christians could work on.
