Been trying to poke at Daniel again. His design just hasn’t compelled me and I’ve been fucking with it to try to make him more clearly East Asian.

Daniel is skilled at long distance shooting as well as basic hand to hand combat. He’s a vet of the Iraq war of the 2000s, and he mostly does temp work to keep afloat and not live with his parents. Despite the PTSD, he prefers construction jobs, because he likes building things and using his hands. He’s also pretty superb at life drawing.

Thelred belongs to @andersam5 but I have ideas for his background; he comes from a lineage of Owls in High Authority, dating back to Hela at least. He probably took the job he’s been training for his whole like in..... the late 1800s? His kind are long lived, capable of some level of magic. He doesn’t think of himself as a bad guy or corrupt, but he does view Queenie as childlike, immature, naive. He’s frustrated to have to deal with her orders and her lack of knowledge.

no Im kidding. I mean she IS but that’s not all. Mags takes some inspiration from Gideon from Gravity Falls, in terms of “oh look magic brooch”, but the brooch doesn’t GIVE her powers, just amplifies her already inherent abilities. Without it, she can hypnotize one person completely, and they’ll still be under with the right triggers, but they will need to see her frequently for it to stay stable.

With the brooch, the manipulation becomes subtle, long term, and can affect more people at once. Her audiobooks and videos will also create and maintain the hypnosis effects for people who are susceptible.
