I have been watching Dan for ~8 years now and he’s someone who has made a very huge impact in my life. He was the first Youtuber I ever watched and he’s discussed so many important things that have allowed me to understand and accept and learn about him, myself, and society. I’ve never really been deep into his community; I never really felt comfortable there. But I’ve always kept up with him on social media and Youtube. I adore him as a person and always wanted happiness for him. When I met him and Phil on their tour, they were absolutely wonderful and so so kind and just as genuine and lovely as they are in their videos. I am so glad I got the chance to meet them, since they are an important part of my life. When Dan took his Youtube/Instagram hiatus, I was really happy. Touring is very exhausting and draining and overall, just takes a lot out of you and your life. I’m really glad he decided to take time for himself, his mental state, and just breathe. A lot of people were freaking out, saying he quit Youtube, whatever. But I was genuinely happy that he was taking a break.
Then, today, this lovely human being posts a video that makes me even more proud of him. He talked about some really tough times while he was growing up and despite all of that, he’s still here. He is so so brave and I am so proud of him.
