I havent posted any of my art in a hot minute, and now that i've been home ive starter a new project (just what i needed right?)
So heres the only 2 completed character sheets so far, and an explaination below cut:
It's a danplan/plan b and whoever else i decide to toss in as well infection au. My girlfriend has been a big help in deciding stuff for me about it, and the general gist ive come up with is it starts with this new energy drink company that gets really big, and has alot of consumers
And after a few months people start to notice the taste is different. Off. Not necessarily in a bad way, but most likely due to a corporation cutting corners to save costs. People still like the drink, and so people keep drinking it.
But then people of them start having these strange symptoms. Theyre cold, more than usual, and it feels like theres bugs under their skin. Eventually they start getting real spacy, even zoning out for days on end. Only thing these people have in common is theyre constant consumers of this drink, so it gets pulled from shelves to be tested and yada yada plant monsters take over their hosts like parasites or cordyceps
Theres no known cure either, so alot of people get taken over, any injury they recieve gets fixed up by their parasetic companion by growing itself in those areas. I mean, having your host die on you wouldnt be too helpful now would it?
Im still deciding between 3 or 4 stages of the infection, but stage one is basically theres no major difference in the person. Theyre paler and colder but nothing looks off visually, personality wise they just begin to get a bit more paranoid and irritable.
Stage 2 is when a person stops being present. They zone out, walk off, possibly disappear for days at a time. Theyre snippy, and lash out, sometimes attacking people they care about before they manager to screw their head back on right.
And stage 3 is when the host is no longer in control. Theyre still in there, somewhere, if you can look deep enough. But its the plant pulling the strings now, its fully in control and learning how to puppet its host. Theyre cold, and theyre hungry. So so hungry. They arent mindless, they're careful and meticulous. But they are clumsy, getting used to a new vessel takes time.
And if i decide to differentiate between stage 3 and a stage 4 it would just be having the plant learn to control the body. More careful in its movement, even disguising itself to fit in among people. After all, why spend time setting up traps and chasing down prey when you can live amongst them?
