I wanted to share this on here. If you've seen this person's videos on the Situation, you'll know how passionate he is about the animators getting the compensation they deserve. If you can, please watch the stream and support the animators!

So I just saw Stephen's video and hoooo boy. It's a lot to unpack. I'm not really the type to vocalise my thoughts about my fandom in social media, but after seeing the backlash and quick drop on subs I feel like I need to say something.

First off, this is not an "IN DEFENSE OF DANIEL" post. I made that fanart last year.

The way Stephen was treated is very sad. I love Daniel (was in team Daniel) as much as the next person however such treatment especially to a friend that helps in achieving your dreams should not be condoned. The outcry for justice for Stephen is understandable.

However, like a coin, a story has more than one side. Maybe even more. We are still yet to hear from Daniel's side, and especially Hosuh. We should not harass any of the members especially Daniel for this. You've all been on social media long enough. You should know how damaging it is to try and "cancel" someone.

Instead we should PATIENTLY wait for their say in the matter; Stephen specifically said not to harass Daniel. They are influencers with a large fanbase; they know how much the fans want closure on an issue THIS big. However, we should respect their decision if ever they decide NOT TO. Because really, this is an issue between friends. If they decide to sort this out privately, it's none of our business. We've already seen how quickly drama can escalate last year. The animation community of YouTube is relatively free of jaw-dropping drama. Let's keep it that way.

WITH THAT SAID, PLEASE.

DO NOT UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THEIR CHANNEL!

I don't know much about YouTube's algorithm, but unsubscribing will not only cause damage to the channel, but to all the people working hard on the channel. Unsubscribing can put the rest of the team's morale down. We need to remember that by going in guns blazing hurts not only Daniel, but Hosuh and the rest of the animators too. They still need money to eat. Cancelling the channel is the last thing true fans want :(

INSTEAD. WHY DON'T WE. ALL. COLLECTIVELY. JUST A SUGGESTION.

Make LOTS OF STEPHEN FANART. SHOW DANIEL HOW SAD WE ARE THAT WE LEFT WITHOUT CALLING DANIEL OUT.

Don't hate on Daniel. Instead support Stephen.

Hashtag ACTUALLY STEPHEN. #actuallystephen!

Make it a movement! Don't harass! Don't unsubscribe! Do support Stephen!

I was Team Daniel, I have a huge amount of respect for the man that started this whole thing. I did make that fanart of him for his birthday. But I do not condone what he did, but I certainly don't want to harass him.

I love DanPlan, but it's not the same without Stephen. Everyone in the fandom knows that the large majority of the fans are on Team Stephen. I hope by now Daniel realized this.

However, Stephen decided to leave. And I respect him fully. We would not want to force someone into something.

If any of the team is reading this, I will try my best to respect you in how you decide to deal with this matter. I hope the other fans will do the same. Daniel I love you, and I hope you wake up too.
