The Altar Book. One of the great artistic books created in Boston during the heyday of the 1890s fine printing movement. Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue was the designer of the lettering and borders. W. Anning Bell did the illustrations and Daniel Updike of the Merrymount Press was the printer. 1897.

…el rasgo fundamental de la imprenta en España [en el siglo XV] es que era tan esencialmente española —más, a mi entender, que lo «italiana» que era la imprenta de Italia, o lo «francesa» que era la de Francia—, tal vez porque el sentido de nacionalidad en España era más profundo que en cualquier otro país (o país latino) de Europa. Un amigo que leyó estas líneas me dijo: «¿Qué se entiende por "esencialmente español"?» Como ocurre con el sabor de las olivas, ¡«lo español» no se puede describir!
