“I can never be cool around you.”
“I see you look at me from across the room. I see the way you smile at me, and I know your lips taste like cherries and innocence and your eyes hold stars more beautiful than any others in all of creation in them.
And it’s so hard just to keep my cool. When you look at me, and you smile I want to wrap my arms around you and pull you close and kiss you - so everyone can see that this girl in my arms is the girl that I love and she loves me back. But I can’t, and I know I can’t. And I’m fighting to keep my cool, so I don’t out us to everybody. And when we’re alone I have all of this...this pent up want. And I never get to say the cool thing because I’d rather have your lips on mine than words. And I never act cool because I’d rather pull you into my lap than leave you sitting on the couch. So I can never be cool around you, because you take all of my cool away.”
