In that episode, the theft of the Infi-Map was a father-daughter affair, meaning Danielle shared Vlad's punishment at the end. Fic summary
Silence.
Followed by cold.
Deathly cold.
He could sense the presence in front of him. It felt familiar.
He peered into the shadows. The shadows seemed to peer back and he started to place the presence.
“Dan?” his voice cracked out barely above a whisper. His breaths short and shaky. Eyes gleamed out of the darkness, a deep green swirling glow. The shadows bent and gathered, then collapsed in on themselves in a white light and Danny found himself staring up into the face of his older, and somehow still living, self.
Danny's secret had been found out, and it did not go over well.
Now Amity Park is swarmed with GIW agents all out for Danny's blood.
Cornered in an ally with nowhere to run and no options left, Danny gets some help from the last place he would expect. His evil future self.

Danny gets turned into a baby, not Dani.
Why? Pick your poison, but Dani ends up having to take care of her "older" brother... while homeless... and traveling... and surviving by stealing food.
That's when another hero finds a twelve-year-old trying to figure out how to change a super-powered baby boy's diaper in a dark alley, and comes to some obvious (and some not-so-obvious) conclusions.

URBAN JUNGLE: Status Update
I have now been drawing this retelling long enough and thinking about the original episode hard enough that I'm extremely peeved Butch didn't name its titular villain Overgrowth, which objectively makes about 1000x more sense than Undergrowth given that the character's whole objective is to overrun the world with hyperactive plant growth.
Anyway, I'm about 100 or so pages into the comic overall and have not finished Chapter 2 yet, but I'm around the halfway point. Because I don't want to keep everyone waiting forever (and it's good for my motivation to keep things moving on this blog), I will begin posting Pages 52-90 weekly starting in June. After page 90 is posted, the comic will return to hiatus if I'm still not finished with the rest of Chapter 2.
