I head canon that the more liminal people become the more they notice Phantom and Danny are the same person. Ecto works as a natural camouflage for Danny (only his colors and outfit change so why hasn't anyone aside from Wes connected the dots ya know) so only his friends who where there at the time of his accident and Jazz are in the know at first. His parents are in protective gear 24/7 despite their terrible lab habits, so they don't see it.

The rest of the town gradually begins to see it and slowly change how they treat Danny and "Phantom". Nobody says anything, they just change how they behave. Slowly phasing out the bullying, extending due dates on assignments, redo's on tests, discounts when he eats out or extra appetizers on the house.

He is the towns secret hero so they will try to protect him since they already failed him once by letting him die. How else would he be able to turn into a ghost hero if not because he died at least once. He dies every time he does hero business and gets shot at by his parents so the town adults have become very protective.

When the Justice league shows up they give them the runaround because Phantom hid as soon as he registered who the visitors were. They leave after giving some autographs (the towns folks collected them for Danny/Phantom from the alien heroes because they know how much he likes space) but then the Bats come into town and the town is surprised when the Bats immediately identify Phantom as Danny. The natural ecto camouflage doesn't work on them since all of their deaths and/or contact with the pits made them liminal.

"We don't want to fight heroes-"

Batman correcting them mid speech. "Vigilantes."

"-but we will if you want to hurt Phantom." Adults armed with anything and everything from novels to pitchforks.

"This is all a misunderstanding, we came here to check in on him and offer a fellowship for young heroes." Red Robin who has a crush on Phantom for his determination and on Danny for his engineering and would definitely like to see more of him.

Dani brandishing a spear Pandora gave her just for these occasions "The red one wants to marry Phantom! get em!"

Danny blushing because he accidentally saw the face under the mask and Red Robin is very handsome. He would also like to get to hang out with other heroes is what he says when he intercepts the Dani incited mob trying to scare off the Bats

So Billy is 17, doesn’t matter if he’s homeless or adopted, but the League or his family still don’t know that he Captain Marvel.

One day, he gets caught in a summon.

The summoning turns out to be a marriage contract. Billy is now married to the eldritch ghost king. Who was also not happy.

After sending the cultist to hell, the ghost king transforms into a teenager. Danny Fenton

Huh, he could work with this. Billy transforms as well.

They start working together to find a way to break off the marriage. There isn’t one. They are stuck together. And because both of them have enemies, they can’t exactly tell people that they’re married

Eventually, they learn to like each more than friends. One day, Marvel is in a meeting and someone asks him what he’s doing after work,

Marvel: oh! I’m watching that new horror movie with my husband :))

Leaguers: ….

Marvel: he was so excited to see it I couldn’t say no!

Leaguers: you’re married???

Marvel: … it was supposed to be a secret… shit…

Shenanigans

- marvel is getting his butt whipped by a new villain, Danny shows up as elderitch monster (“not my husband, bitch!”)

- JLA holiday party? Billy brings elderitch Danny

- Dani pops up:

Dani: hiya papa!!

Marvel: Dani! What are you doing here?

Dani: just stopping by to see my papa :))

Marvel: aww :))

Leaguers: aww….?

-when Billy identify is revealed;

Leaguer: I can’t believe you made up a fake husband!

Billy: oh Danny is real!

Leaguers: but he’s not your husband, right?

Billy: :))

Leaguers: ….right??

Constantine: What? Why are you folk silent?

Green Arrow: Since when were you married?!

Constantine: A good long while mate why?

Flash: No ring?! You never told anyone you were married?

Batman: You didn't update your paperwork for that but that aside. Our situation.

Green Arrow: We aren't glossing over that right?

Batman: Mission first.

Constantine: What Spooky said- HEY! ELLIE, BILLY, OFF THE TABLE. Hold I need to grab her. *Puts the call on mute*

Wonder Woman: Constantine seems to be a family man.

Superman: His household sounds like mine.

Batman: Hm.

Flash: Ellie? Billy? Those sound like kid nicknames, he has kids too!

Green Arrow: Probably.

Danny: Hello? Are you still with us?

Wonder Woman: Yes we are hello Mrs. Constantine?

Danny: Oh hun you can just call me Danny please. Love, you are going to drop him if you hold him like that. Sorry we are trying to rangle a bunch of kids right now.

Batman: It is fine, we understand we caught you in the middle of something but we have a situation-

Danny: Yeah Jo told me. From what I got it's nothing big, Vortex is always a big show no power I swear. In the sticks of Illinois there's a town called Amity Park. You are going to want to find the Fentonworks building and you can pretty much grab the appropriate gear to make sure you don't get overshadow- what? Oh. "Possessed". Ew I hate how that sounds. Don't give me that look.

Batman: Thank you Miss.

Danny: No problems! I will make sure John gives my personal number to y'all so ya can call if it's anything bigger. Trust me, if it was worse I would have taken care of it myself- Ellie why are you crying we told you to leave Dante alone when- take this.

Constantine: She answered your questions. I have to go if You couldn't already hear. Little- why are you biting me? *Call ends*

Flash: That was the most informative and confusing call we have ever had with him.

Everyone else: Agreed.
