no no wait. thinking about how danni and imogen both have what the other never had - imogen has financial stability that makes her comfortable enough to care for herself and those she loves and danni has a loving family that accepts her for who she is
when imogen first meets the asturias she just. has no idea what to expect really, she is so nervous that they won't like her, that they'll think she's too weak or that she doesn't understand them because she was born in money and just that she's not good enough for someone as fierce and talented as danni when she is still regaining her footing and trying to recover from the massive trauma the past year put on her
but the asturias are so welcoming. she isn't used to the kind of warmth latine families have and while the asturias are protective of danni, they can tell imogen makes her happy. and there's always room for more in the family. she's welcomed with cheek kisses and warm hugs and a good meal and the asturias are so gentle with her - they hold her hand as she tells stories and tell her that they're glad she's getting better and that she's done danni so much good. then they bless her with awful stories of danni's childhood and within seconds they're calling imogen mija, they always bring them food at their apartment and stop to chat and imogen realizes she has a family now, one that's so much better than the one she used to
and the first time she notices that maybe after their wedding, when the asturias tell her they're so glad she's officially one of them now she cries and danni's mom holds her and tells her that she's going to be okay, that she's loved. and danni kisses her hand and says "you have no idea" and imogen grins through the tears, feeling happier than ever
and with their conjoined money (especially now that danni has a stable job as a photojournalist and gets some MEAN money on the side selling her more artistic pics) they are able to give the asturias a more comfortable life, get danni's dad a better chair and accomodations, get him in physical therapy so he doesnt feel as much pain, and danni feels like she can breathe for the first time in forever. and they're all family and help each other and aaa i love them
