Danny was a huge force in our early years. His love for the Blues led him to being asked to join Fleetwood Mac in 1968, where he made his musical home for many years. . Danny’s true legacy, in my mind, will forever live on in the music he wrote and played so beautifully as a part of the foundation of Fleetwood Mac, that has now endured for over fifty years. . Album Number Four Hundred Forty Nine. “Penguin is the seventh studio album by British-American rock band #fleetwoodmac , released in March 1973. It was the first Fleetwood Mac album after the departure of #dannykirwan , the first to feature #bobweston and the only one to feature #davewalker My copy is gatefold on #repriserecords - MS-2138. (a later pressing, per the label) The penguin is the band mascot favoured by #johnmcvie . His fascination with the birds originated when he lived near London Zoo during the early days of his marriage to #christinemcvie . He was a member of the #zoologicalsocietyoflondon and would spend hours at the zoo studying and watching the penguins. #penguinalbum was the highest charting Fleetwood Mac album in the US at the time, clawing its way into the Top 50. Album Number Four Hundred Forty Eight “Bare Trees” is the sixth studio album by #fleetwoodmac , released in March 1972. It was their last album to feature #dannykirwan , who was fired during the album's supporting tour. In the wake of the band's success in the mid-1970s, #baretreesfleetwoodmac peaked at number 70 on US Billboard 200 chart. The album was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in 1988. My copy is the 1977 reissue on #repriserecords - MSK 2278 #mickfleetwood was particularly impressed with Kirwan's contributions to the album. "Danny had the chops with layering techniques, and the ability to know what's right and wrong in the studio," he said.
