RIP to my in game photos

I updated my game to the recent patch and I got the black photo bug unfortunately. Went through my played households, every single baby picture, vacation, graduation and yearbook photo are all gone. Just black voids staring back at me 😢😢

You had such a nice style to begin with, why are you copying Ophernelia all of a sudden?

Ophie is one of my biggest inspirations, but I am in no way copying her style. This sim was a trial and error process and it took me a while to figure out what I wanted her to look like

This photo was my inspiration after I let her first version marinate (she was meant to be alternative but I ended up changing stuff last minute because I wasn’t happy. So the version you see is the version I’m most happy with)

At the end of the day, that sim is still mine and was created using my own imagination. Styles fluctuate, I like to experiment with different types of media that inspire me

I am proud of what I made :)

Mini Update

Hi everyone! Sorry for the lack of posts. I’m not feeling too confident with some of my stuff right now and it’s been bugging me since last week - I have so many drafts but I’ve yet to hit post 😭😂

Paralives So Far [9.8 hours of gameplay]

Disclaimer: I am a very slow player and there are things I haven’t explored yet and I’m playing within my own pace so there’s not much to say. I’m just here to (incoherently) yap and share what I think. These are my personal opinions. Feel free to share your experience too!

I am also aware this game is in Early Access

Things I liked:

- The representation of black hair!! Many games put black people in the back of their mind (or don’t even think of us at all) when it comes to making hair, skin tones, etc. There are different games that I’ve played but I’m not able to make myself and hair is so important within black culture

Having options in the base game is great and I look forward to more and to see what different creators will make :)

- The Para customization is honestly pretty solid! The sliders remind me of the sims 2 & 3 respectively.

- Build mode is also great and I’m not a builder myself!

- I love you Colour Wheel 🥹🫶🏾

- I like the world/town. I like the vibes, I appreciate the little details and the amount of work put into each build. Bonus points for it being a walkable town lol (my para can just run to work in like 1 minute)

- I actually don’t mind the art style of the game. I’m not a huge fan, however, I do love how this game has its own identity and its own little quirks that make it unique

- Auto save!!!!

- Downloading mods is super easy! Yay!

- Height slider!!!!!

- The chance cards are lowkey fun. That challenging aspect makes me actually want to lock in and try. With that being said, how in the world are some folks Para’s getting pregnant so fast!? 😭😭

Things I don’t like or are neutral on:

- The camera (I’ll explain in personal wishes)

- Some of the clothing options are a hit or miss but they’re good for basics I suppose. Can’t wait to see more options

- The lag. Sometimes playing after pausing can cause immense lag for me. No idea why

- The babies are scary and kinda ugly in a cute way? They’re just so silly 😭

Personal Wishes:

- A way to change the camera toggles. Believe it or not, I’m not a techie person at all and I’m genuinely not used to playing many games on my laptop! I have a very hard time with the camera controls (when rotating, moving and zooming) and I hope that they’ll add a toggle where instead of using the mouse, you can use the arrows instead

Shout out to TwistedMexi for already making a mod! (It’s on the Paralives Steam workshop)

Is it worth $40?

I’d say so in my opinion. I personally don’t regret my purchase. Still, if you’re on the fence, then I’d recommend waiting (while still staying informed)

At the end of the day, Paralives deserves its own space to grow and to improve!! 💃🏾

Hey guys! I’ve just been wondering, what other things would you like to see from me in terms of sims posts or whatever? You guys seem to love the Kimble twins/family, so do you want to see them more often? Would you want to see other sims? Or would you like to see other things? (Lookbooks, etc)

It’s not really a promise to anything but more so for ideas and feedback (I also don’t want to limit or stress myself either to be very honest)
