We are reading Przybyszewska here...

(Giant dog belongs to friend and is Concerned. I am having A Moment here with Robespierre and also because of, hm, everything.

It is an awesome play. It makes one feel like one is running out of time. It makes one feel inclined to write and perhaps do whatever else it takes to make a difference, and (try not to) burn out. More to come.)

Making Przybyszewska's plays look like illustrated kid novels

Reading Robespierre's biography got me thinking if part of the reason why Przybyszewska felt such a strong connection to Maximilien might have been that they both had

a) a mother that seemed sweet and caring but died when they were still young (6 for Maximilien and 11 for Stanisława)

b) a rakish and by most accounts frankly terrible father

(also Przybyszewska was an illegitimate child while Robespierre very nearly was one too - it doesn't mean much know but was a pretty big deal back then.)

The fact that Przybyszewska's first name - Stanisława - translates to "one who achieves fame" sometimes keeps me up at night
