Arsène can't stop smiling when talking about Danny, I can relate.

danny boyyyy
i just said “come on danny boy” and suddenly :) goal :)
I have the April edition of Arsenal Magazine and Danny is the feature, I might do some excerpts/edits tomorrow!
what do u think about danny missing sutton bc of the pitch? :/ i noticed u said people were getting angry
I think they were getting angry at the fact that he wasn’t included in tomorrow’s match day squad, this is before he tweeted that he didn’t think the pitch was a good idea. If he was not coming back from injury, I would say that it was disrespectful not to want to play on a 3G pitch. But given that Danny has suffered with injuries at Arsenal, and is now getting back into the swing of things, I think it’s much more understandable that he would not want to do something that may increase risk of going backwards, rather than forwards, in his recovery. I know not everyone will agree/ think he needs to just “get on with it”, but I’m sure Danny has not intended this to be a slight on Sutton’s facilities, because it actually is a very high quality 3G pitch that they have, but he must think long term for himself and Arsenal.
TL;DR: I think there’s a big difference in handling a 3G pitch when fit vs. handling one when you’re not match fit. It’s easy to say “he should just play” but then we’d also be saying it was stupid idea if he had gone and suffered a set back. I hope people won’t take it too much to heart.
