the fact that it took this long for the Dakota access pipeline to be stopped shows that things in this country really aren’t run with the interests of the people at heart. it took weeks and weeks of violence towards peaceful protesters, absolute carnage, WORLDWIDE outrage, and constant scandal for them to say “ok, i guess we might as well stop them from bullying the Natives this time”. there’s still so much more work to be done.
