A Not-So-Rosey Meeting
Heading back out, Dappledmist decided to hunt further away from camp.
She caught a few pieces of prey before running into a ginger tom.
“WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU’RE DOING?! TRESPASSING AND STEALING OUR PREY?!” The tom hissed.
“I’m not stealing anything!” Dappledmist yowled. “This isn’t anyone’s territory!”
“Yes, it is!” The tom hissed, baring his teeth. “This territory belongs to Roseclan!”
Shark Bite
Dappledmist hissed as the shark she was wrestling bit off half her tail. She sunk her claws into the white body to end the creature quickly. She’d have to go see her sister real quick before going back out to hunt.
Grottoclan
“Pesky fly!” Dappledmist huffed, swatting away the black insect buzzing around her ear. She’d gone out to mark some borders for the clan’s territory. Should she have probably brought another cat or two with her? Sure. But she hadn’t thought about it at the time. Besides, who would she even ask? Boulderstar was out hunting with Ravenpelt, her sister Whiteear was helping Levi with the new kits in the nursery, and Starclan knows where Pebble and that silver tabby she dotes over went. She could have asked Tinybounce to come, but Dappledmist figured the elderly tom should get to relax in camp.
Her ears perked at the sound of rustling leaves, turning her head towards the direction of the sound as a grey tom stepped out of the bushes.
“Hey!” The tom smiled as he padded up to the dappled tortoiseshell. “You’re one of those clan cats, right? Snakebrook said you’d be out here!”
“Yes, I am.” Dappledmist lifted her head proudly. “Are you looking to join the clan? We could use the extra paws.”
“Is that okay? I don’t want to intrude.”
“You’ll be fine.” Dappledmist waved her paw. “Boulderstar is pretty lenient on visitors, as long as they help the clan while staying with us. Think you can handle catching a few mice and birds?”
“Can I?!” The tom lifted his head. “I caught those all the time before ending up at the barn!”
Dappledmist chuckled softly at the tom’s eagerness. “Alright. We’ll finish this patrol, and then you can show me how well you can hunt.”
New Friends
“Well, hello there.” Dappledmist smiled as she walked over to sniff the brown newcomer. “I’m glad you decided to come.”
“You made the grotto sound amazing to live in. How could I not?” The tom purred.
With a pleased purr, Dappledmist playfully batted at his ear. “Let’s play a bit. Get to know each other as clanmates!”
“Sure.” Tinybounce chuckled before chasing after the dappled tortoiseshell.
