“You...” His brows raise for a moment before he squints, head tilting. “Harry?”
@darcymark continued from this
he’d thought everything was fine ; his perfect family : wife he’d only occasionally quarrel with and a son who never caused much trouble. and how wrong of him to think that. the news doesn’t aggravate the man more than the attitude from his boy : the overly confident demeanour as if he could easily taken on the rest of the universe.
’ LIFE ISN’T EASY, mark. supporting a family is hard –– not for a teenager. especially not for you. you’re acting like a fucking child. it’s time you learn how to be bloody responsible and –––. ’ briefly, frustration clouds his judgement & he knows he’s crossed his line. no, he doesn’t say the rest. but they both know the ending
They'd bickered before. What teenager didn't on occasion with their parent? However, this wasn't bickering, it was well past that. Each word punctured Mark a little more, the happier confidence he'd felt quickly returning as angered confidence. Then the chance came. A chance to speak what had run through his mind many times throughout his life.
"And what? You'll make me break up with her? Pay Beth off and ship me off to Eton like a proper posh boy? Make her not have this baby? Just because it took you so long, it doesn't mean I have to wait another 30 years before I can have kids."
when u dont know what netflix is but u still wanna chill
@darcymark replied to your post: also here’s a reminder that mark’s unofficial dad...
[ darce vader mask ] mark i am ur father
no shit dad. we have the exact same name
He’d had to get out of the house for awhile. His mind was buzzing with everything that was going on. At his side was his father, Mark not even having complained when he’d said that he would come along though if it had been Liz, it would have been a different story.
Mark is happy with the quiet shared between them, other than the occasional comment about what had changed since his father had last been here. It was peaceful, easy. A brief reprieve from the hell which had become Mark’s life.
Beth. Baby. Becca. Beth. Baby. Becca. Beth. Baby. Becca.
The words kept spinning around in his mind, unable to quite make them leave his mind no matter how hard he tried.
“Dad... There’s something I have to tell y’” @darcymark
all but crashing into another body is what causes the hufflepuff to almost jump out of her skin, having no one but herself to blame for not paying attention to her surroundings. bridget knew that eventually, there’d be a new topic surrounding the castle that would occupy the mind of the witches and wizards that resided there. even knowing that didn’t stop the embarrassment she felt after her ( very public ) ordeal with daniel cleaver. she’d been so stupid to genuinely believe that he had any intention in making whatever he had with her serious. of c o u r s e there were better witches ( thinner. prettier, more experienced ) he’d want — why settle for her? silly little bridget. ‘ mark ’ she greets, feigning a smile at the familiar face. she didn’t know much about the darcy boy aside from the obvious. they only interacted on the train to and from hogwarts, their parents all but pushing them towards each other bridget’s first hogwarts visit. ‘ i didn’t see you there. sorry. ’
she attempts to hide the disdain ( although bridget was certain she most likely failed at that seeing as how she seemed to have mastered how to fail at life in general ) as mark’s phone rings , quickly feigning a smile when his gaze meets hers. it’s almost comical to her how much annoyance and anger that sound managed to fill her with. it was expected, sure. bridget would be an idiot to not understand how the life of someone as important as mark worked. she was proud of him, in fact. he’d worked so hard and she was okay with supporting him in every way she could. what she didn’t expect was the loneliness that seemed to have taken over her these past few months. it’d been all about his work and the sense of being unimportant to mark only grew with each cancellation of their plans. blue eyes turn to the drink at hand and then the floor, certain that if she dared to look him in the eye, she’d say something she’d regret. ‘ you should take that. could be work or something else equally as important. i’ll clean up and we can have date night some other night. ’
