For so long behind the scenes this had been building, and XI should have seen it coming. He supposed he had not expected it to reach this degree of seriousness; that some toxic combination of factors going on in his partner’s life would reach critical level and force him to lash out. Not at XI, oh no.
The sprightly, youngest incarnation of X known as Theta had been visiting Gallifrey on a regular basis, keen for the Lord President’s attention and affection. His demands and impertinent attitude made a dangerous cocktail when met with X’s jealousy. For XI’s sake alone, X had reined in his anger. Unfortunately, he had not been sleeping, and the stress of remaining on Gallifrey for the sake of XI had been wearing him down. Crisis after crisis was faced. The Council; Missy; Caliban; Kyrian; Killian - lots of ans; the stunt Theta pulled with leaving the transformed Lord President in a cage while he visited his most dangerous prisoner; and now XI behaving differently. Never mind Time Lord. X was a time bomb.
So it was that one early afternoon, XI’s seat at the council table was disturbed when he received a communication from the Citadel’s hospital. He left at once to visit the victim of his advisor’s violent outburst. Though his hearts still felt sick with concern, and affection was not a feeling that his tainted mind had driven away, there was none of the panic he might normally have exuded. He tensed once he entered the room and saw the state of the man in the bed, his jaw clenching before he approached and ventured to speak.
“Theta. What happened?”

“No more, Kyrian, no more.”
Today XI had been so close to creating a vacuum inside Kyrian’s enclosure and waiting until their rivalry was at an end, finally. The morality shift forced by the psychic attack he had faced in the Dark Tower nagged at him to do it, to rid himself and his family of his most dangerous threat and face whatever wrath Caliban brought.
Yet, he had lost inhibitions, not sense.
Ensuring no sound escaped his enemy’s cage - he cared less what Kyrian had to say to him - XI watched as Kyrian’s room was flooded with viscous stasis fluid. It permeated every millimetre of the tank-like structure, a breathable liquid. A minute later a pulse was sent through the substance, causing every molecule of it to freeze in time, including the powerful creature within.
Satisfied that Kyrian was rendered incapacitated with no more need to provide company to assuage his own guilt or fear, XI bid the cage sink beneath the dunes, watching the sand pour inward until his problems were utterly buried.
And the Time Lord President found himself beginning to laugh. He shrieked like a hyena and danced on the sand, howling challenges at the twin suns beating down upon his planet.
“I. WIN!”

ask-xi:
“If you’ve got something to say, dear, I suggest you say it to my face.”
scottnoblethemetacrisis:
“Hmm.” Scott, sitting on a patch of thin air, crossed his arms, nodding at the suggestion as he shifted, pressing his thumb to his bottom lip. “I was just thinking you look like you could use a long soak in a hot tub; or a good lay.” He said bluntly.
XI shifted back in his seat, letting his blood cool while he regarded his friend. It had barely registered at first that Scott appeared to have obtained - or had never shown - new abilities, his levitation unfamiliar with the Lord President. It had been a while since the two had crossed paths. Even so, this did not deter him from voicing his thoughts.
“Perhaps I could,” he answered. “Are you offering yourself?”
Corrupted
XI was close enough to the bottom of the Dark Tower not to damage himself when he plummeted from one of its windows. He did not even yell in surprise at the rush of air, his mind already reeling from the recent attack the room had made. He hit the sandy ground with a dull thud just as his companion had come bolting for the entrance, an entourage of guards following at a wary distance. They knew not to get in the way of the Lord President’s advisor.
Eyes scrunched in pain and confusion, XI picked himself up and blinked at the sight of his partner.
“I’m fine,” he said. “Don’t fuss.”
m!a: XI is very dark and dominant (so I may be extending it beyond 3 days :U)

“Professor Song, just the person.” Whatever reason she had for coming to see him on Gallifrey, XI currently was not interested. He did not stop to greet her, only continued to speak with the assumption she would follow as he marched on. “You don’t have any qualms about killing slave traders, do you?” It was barely even a question.
