"NO!!" dark-blue-blaze
Send me "NO!!" for my muse to be killed in front of yours
Assassination attempts on Imperial officials was not an uncommon thing, but few would have considered a politician from a tiny backwater planet, relatively unknown outside of the small number of surrounding systems, would have been a likely target. But the shots fired across the street from the tightly packed rooftops seemed to say otherwise.
The first shot slammed into her lower back, shearing through her spine and paralyzing her completely from the waist down. The sniper was a professional, there would be no running for cover.
Tua fell back, away from the podium, overwhelmed in a state of shock and the second shot, meant for her head, got her in the neck instead, the cauterizing effect of the plasma bolt was not enough to hold back the gush of blood that spurted forth from her severed carotid artery and sending crimson torrent over her tunic, her own heart bleeding her out faster than those around her could reasonably react in their stunned state.
