The lights where dim, silence deafening, and the movement of shadows haunting.
Keith caught a glimpse of them out of his peripheral, creeping up the side of the wall, growing larger and longer as someone approached. His entire body went rigid against Lance’s, like a jolt of electricity seizing him up, because he knew what could be discovered right around the corner – two cadets out of their rooms and out of their uniforms, sneaking through the darkened halls with their lips locked and their skin hot beneath each other’s touch.
“What –” Lance began to say, but then Keith pressed his hand firmly over his mouth when he heard the distant sound of footsteps coming up on their left.
Their heartbeats fluttered together, chest to chest.
Keith felt a grin bloom beneath his palm, felt the drag of Lance’s hands skimming downward. Past his waist, over his hips, lower, lower, lower –
“Don’t,” Keith growled, breath hitching and ghosting soft against Lance’s cheek, “even think about it.”
