"Death, eh?" remarked a tawny skinned boy from his stool.
The diner wasn't quite dead, but it was in a coma, at least. The booths were empty, and the waitress was on her phone as far away from the only two patrons as possible. The one thrum of vitality wafted from the kitchen, filling the air with the scent of sweets, savories, salts, and fats. If nothing else, there was a humble passion in small town cooking. It always felt like home, if only for a moment.
"Care to sit a while? This is the closest I think I'll get to you for a long time," He continued, "I'm Phin--Phineas, if you're proper."
She really should be used to being caught by now. Despite being told frequently that she needs to be more careful about using her abilities in public. The world is ever expanding and those with some form of second sight seem to be popping up everywhere she looks!
Ah, but if a wandering ghost happens to be looming close by, shyly hoping to speak to her even when she's off duty— why, it would be rude to ignore them! All she did was offer a bit of advice, that if the ghost was in need to help, there's a shrine staffed secretly with other spirits nearby. Botan might be in her human form, enjoying some time off, but that doesn't negate her responsibilities.
Maybe she hadn't been as stealthy as she'd thought because the young man near by caught her. Botan flushed pink immediately, laughing awkwardly. She rubs the back of her neck, hoping this encounter won't get her into too much trouble.
Upon a second glance, Botan notices something sparking around the other's form, a difference in aura from a standard human. Not quite that of a typical psychic but... well, now she's curious. And once again, it'd be rude to ignore someone!
"Aha— You noticed that, gosh I really do need to learn to be more careful. You're not, you know, startled or anything? I promise it's my day off, no reaping!" As long as he doesn't think she's here for him. Botan takes a careful seat, brushing some of the hair from her face. "Phineas, what a nice name. I really am sorry about that, I didn't mean to disturb you or anything. Sometimes I forget where I am. Oh! I'm Botan, by the way. Nice to meet you!"
