Kiryuu's parents have both binary genders covered when it comes to worrying about who's she's dating after they figured out she wasn't heterosexual. Her dad worries about guys in a more typical sense, but her mother worries about women because they 'can be cutthroat and ruthless if they want to, and she can beat up any guy who gives her trouble'. She hasn't dated anyone so this point is rather moot. Either way, they are happy and fine with their kid being who she is. Her mother is internally more thrilled because she really doesn't like traditionalism thanks to her oth father, Kiryuu's grandpa.

Kiryuu doesn't use labels because when she did her due diligent research, there was just. A lot. She puts herself under the demi category as she needs a bit of time and emotional connection to a person. She unfortunately doesn't get that a lot due to her circumstances of monster of the week. She does try and attend some pride functions mostly for the merchandise. She likes collecting things and giving it out to the younger and discovering folk. Also, you know, let people have rights if they aren't hurting anyone.

Platonic or not, if Kiryuu thinks you have any attractive qualities, she will tell you to your face. She's blunt like that. Man, woman or neither, you will hear it. She is the greatest wingman you can ever have. She is also not immune to the back and forth flirting game. There is a specific line that astute people will notice she has: she only crosses it if there is a slight inkling of interest. Kiryuu unfortunately has been terribly flirted with when she has gone to the bar, and it has lead to unpleasant encounters with people. She's also been the fake girlfriend to get strangers out of situations at bars. She plays the game very well.

One of these days she's gonna find a someone to call her partner and she'll be so very happy about it.

Kiryuu never really had a 'coming out', she just asked her parents at one time when she was old enough to ask about Pride Month what it was for. When her parents explained it to her, she just went 'Oh so people say other people can't like certain people? Good thing I don't let strangers tell me what to do.'

And that was that. She likes guys, gals, nonbinary pals so long as they have a good personality and a decent heart. A pretty face helps too, and she will tell you if you have one. She may have been more sheltered, but she was well educated by her parents and got to skip a lot of the social pressures and unhealthy traditionalist ways of thinking. The fact that she was also raised around Digimon her entire life also helped with accepting things such as different gender identity and healthy views of loving who you love.

She walks into the lab with her eyes shut. The baby Digimon were all getting ready to get taken to the Digital Gate in a few days, which meant another international trip. At least her grandmother would be happy to see them returning home, and she had been looking forward to the visit. Passing over her hand blindly, she feels the crinkle of plastic and paper. Opening her eyes, she sees a small bouquet of flowers with an anonymous note: a simple heart. Kiryuu blinks for a few moments, thinking just who put there here. They were intended for her, by process of elimination... and further thinking left very few people who could have given her this kind of gesture.

Magna didn't seem like a flower guy, and Beel wasn't that kind of shy about affection; it'd much rather shove her into the couch and crush her with it's body weight as affection instead. Plus, any of the other Digimon don't exactly keep track of the flower shops. Breezy would have given these to her directly, and if not, a note about an emergency.

That really only left one other person.

A small smile creeps across her face as she picks the gift up. These were going to need some water.
