Driving down to Cali for Darker Waves this weekend. Figured out my outfit for it. Hair is up for the weekend and my ass is accessorized to the high heavens with everything but the kitchen sink.
If I were to breakdown all the outfit pieces...
- fishnets from spirit halloween
- choker, silver layered necklaces, and the 4 silver bracelets that are closed loop are from an Indian brand that does silver toned brass jewelry. Beta girl, takes a while to arrive, but the prices for each piece are very affordable ($8-$20 USD per piece plus shipping)
- butterfly necklace is holeylink, just got it recently at my local convention where they were vending.
- butterfly hair clips were from a local art event.
- silver and black layered necklaces were diy from a strand of black beads from the philippines and a necklace I got in Oregon years ago.
- Black beaded necklaces were either diy or thrifted. Got a bracelet from Goodwill that was pretty much just long rows of small black seed beeds. Harvested that and made necklaces out of those pieces. A different necklace from savers had 6 long knotted strands of beads, but the closure was broken, so I just harvested the beads.
- then the rest of the jewelry is literally also just thrifted.
- velvet shirt from buffalo exchange because i couldnt help myself and it's silk and rayon velvet not polyester velvet.
- pants from taobao, they're hanfu reproduction pants. Made for laborers to wear, but I like how much freedom of movement they give me. No elastic in it, so it has to be pleated and belted to fit.
- middle belt with the two o rings was tablet woven by me with cotton and silk crochet thread.
- spider web belt loop chains were made by me
- black bead belt chain was made from the thrifted beaded necklace mentioned earlier.
- the rings are stainless steel and from the ren faire
Anyway, can't wait to see all the bands coming to Darker Waves. and who else in my local scene is driving down for it.
