The last of the Dark Fairytale Prompt. Now that I have all the drawings for these themes. I’m going to make a small booklet containing all the Dark Fairytale Prompt together for purchase. The original drawings will be up for sale too. I’m still deciding on the amount and set up my online shop. I’ve been putting it off since I want to post them on sale all at once. Sadly, one of the drawings was lost at school =( but I have the scan for it...I think. My webcomic/ illustrations/fanart will also be on sale...so...
Stay tune!
I went a little overboard with the trees in the back but it was fun, kind of relaxing...for the mind, not for my hands tho XD.
Dark Fairytales Challenge
Little Red Riding Hood: Beyond the wood.
I like this one very much, so it will definitely have prints version.
Little Red Riding Hood; The girl covered in red
The drawing has pearlescent paint on, so it shimmers against the light. The scanned drawing didn’t do it justice.
Although I failed the Inktober challenge, I’m planning on finishing the Dark Fairytale Prompt my friends and I made. I have 3 more days/drawing left of this prompt.
Reminder that Inktober prints are up for sale! https://www.storenvy.com/stores/967357-rin-varga-artwork
The next Dark Fairytale Challenge prompt, "The bargain and the price"
"I will prepare a draught for you, with which you must swim to land tomorrow before sunrise, and sit down on the shore and drink it. Your tail will then disappear, and shrink up into what mankind calls legs, and you will feel great pain, as if a sword were passing through you. But all who see you will say that you are the prettiest little human being they ever saw. You will still have the same floating gracefulness of movement, and no dancer will ever tread so lightly; but at every step you take it will feel as if you were treading upon sharp knives, and that the blood must flow. If you will bear all this, I will help you...
“But I must be paid also,” said the witch, “and it is not a trifle that I ask. You have the sweetest voice of any who dwell here in the depths of the sea, and you believe that you will be able to charm the prince with it also, but this voice you must give to me; the best thing you possess will I have for the price of my draught. My own blood must be mixed with it, that it may be as sharp as a two-edged sword.”
--The Little Mermaid, Hans Christian Anderson
I can’t believe I forgot to post this on Tumblr!! I’m uploading all of my currently completed Intkober illustrations as digital prints that you can buy from my Storenvy! Everything is available for $15, feel free to message me or ask questions if you have any. More will be added as I go!
Day 5 of the Dark Fairytale Challenge, “Her last resort”
The stepsisters could not make their own feet fit into the glass slipper, and so their mother handed them each a knife. "Cut the toe off. Once you're queen, you won't need to go on foot anymore." --Brothers Grimm
See what's for sale by Rin Varga Artwork on Storenvy, the home of independent small businesses all over the world.
Inktober prints are available at my Storenvy, including some different colored versions that didn’t make the offical cut!
The Dark Fairytale Challenge Day 3: “The Transformation”
The Brothers Grimm didn’t give Cinderella a fairy godmother. However, the birds that perch in the tree above her father’s grave were more than willing to help her out instead!
This actually would have gone up last night, but I ended up making A DOZEN different versions while playing with color and lighting. I stared at them for so long trying to choose that I had to sleep on it, and I decided to post my first version to spare me the trouble lol.
