My darkling beetles decided to have a go at architecture it would seem.

30 Days Wild. Day 19 - Lots of our mealworm pupae have hatched into beetles now, and it's been a fascinating process to watch. A few haven't made it for some unknown reasons but the majority wriggle out their skins with no problems. Last week though, I watched a little beetle struggling to free himself and although he tried his best, only managed to partially hatch. His head and legs are free, but his back still has pupae skin instead of a smooth beetle back. He seems to be doing ok though, eating and moving normally. I'm keeping an eye on the little guy.
