Carefully Théo stepped into the bathtub and sank into the warm water. He didn't remember the last time he had a bath - it must have been weeks ago, before this whole nightmare started.
He still didn't know whether Madame Starkov said the truth or whether she was insane. Under normal circumstances he wouldn’t believe a word she said, but the circumstances weren’t normal. It would be so much easier to declare everything she said as nonsense. Raising people from the dead just wasn’t possible. Only God had that power, not some random woman who claimed to be a witch. It just couldn’t be true.
But Théo remembered exactly what it had felt like to die. He remembered the coarse rope around his throat and the hood they had put over his head. The fabric had smelled of fear.
Thomas’ face still showed up whenever Théo closed his eyes. He had come, even though Théo forbade him to. He shouldn’t have watched this.
Théo remembered everything down to the last detail. He remembered the voices of the policemen around him. How the lever had creaked when they opened the trapdoor beneath him. How he fell and how the rope stopped the fall. It hurt, but his neck didn't break and death and panic crept up his throat slowly.
Darkness had lowered over him. And then there had been light. A bright and shining light and his mothers outstretched arms. Did he imagine things in his fight with death? Or had it been heaven?
Théodore Cain. Part-Werewolf. Son. Brother. Murderer. Resurrected.
Contrary to popular believe, i’m actually not dead, just really stressed and busy because of my upcoming graduation from my job training and the existential crisis that comes with it. I’ll try posting more, but no promises.
WIP Introduction ▪️ Son of the Sun
a darkness prequel
“The old wolf is dying. There will be a shift in power soon.” Anyas face lit up, when she moved the candle closer to light her cigarette.
Théo sighed. “So there will be more bodies before this is over.”
“Yes.” She smiled slightly and without joy. “There will be rivers of blood.”
Paris, 1889.
A series of brutal murders overshadows the preparation of the world’s fair. While the police is still in search of suspects, Anya Starkov knows exactly who’s behind this. Knowing she can’t take on an opponent like this alone, she puts together a team to try and find the murderer before the exposition opens its gates.

Introduction ▪️ The Darkverse Prequels
“I’m old, Anya. I’m so fucking tired.” Connor sighed and leaned his head back against the wall. “I don’t want to fight anymore.”
“I know. If everything goes right, this will be the last fight, the last war.” Ana smiled at the thought of it. But part of her was scared. She couldn’t imagine a world at peace - there had been supernatural wars as long as she remembered.
The darkverse covers the darkness trilogy and it’s pre- and sequels. Since this whole prequel-thing got slightly out of hand, I figured I should do a overview post for it. Here, I will provide a list of all prequels in chronological order. Maybe there will be a list of sequels in the future, but the sequels are only in very early planning stages.
Germania magna, ca. 200 AD. Barbaric tribes live behind the limes, everyone knows. But something strange happens past the wall and it is left to a young roman solider to find out stranger things than tribes roam around free Germania.
