If Siva could change one thing about herself, what would it be?
Ooof, One thing huh? If there is one thing, it would be her quick to assume/judgement before giving a chance to many things. Thing is, how she picked up that trait, it was necessary at the time.
Surviving in the end of the world where literally everything is out to kill you, there was no chance of giving anything or any being the benefit of the doubt. When it is a matter of life and death, when all that dictates your survival is a split second decision and the assumption that nothing and no one is safe is the only thing that kept her alive for so long. Basically her quick judgement and decisive nature and how to handle things is a coping mechanism to avoid danger. Assumptions based on whatever little hints or critical details is what decided whether one lived or died, cuz having that thought process when you are faced with the unknown helped Siva avoid many dangers that others would not have thought was a possible danger.
While critical assumption is helpful when on your own, when it comes to interacting with others, it can be detrimental. Siva has a habit of assuming the worst of people before letting them in due to trust issues and having the mindset of having no one to really rely on. Her experiences taught her that never underestimate someone, and that no matter how nice, anyone is capable of doing bad. So yeah, basically she would want to be less judgemental. Hope ya like and thanks for the ask!
Strife needs/gets a Story
I’ve been a Darksiders-fan, since the first game came out, and can’t wait for the next instalment. Thanks to Genesis and Darksiders 3, Strife has quickly become my favourite of the Horsemen, who really deserves his own game, one we’ll hopefully get in the next few years. But while we all wait, I decided to write a story.
Bridging the time between Genesis and Darksiders 3, it will focus on Strife, still struggling with his past (and his inner demons) as he goes on missions for the Council and tries to live his life. While the rift between him and his siblings seems to be getting bigger, he quite often finds himself in the company of angels, who have willingly left White City, escaping its many restrictions.
This is Darksiders Pariahs and you can read it on AO3, wattpad and fanfiction.net.
What's this?! My Darksiders ocs in my Bebez cheeb style?!! Perish the thought, and yet here we are. It's high time I drew more Darksiders, so while doing art trades, I came up with all my Darksiders characters in a cute style. Including the final design of my Angel Torren (Which I still need to make an official reference for.😂). So Siva, Keres, and Torren are here to stay, and stay tuned for more Darksiders!
Art, Siva, Keres, and Torren are mine

Angel Wings & Feather Colours
With demons coming in all shapes, colours and sizes, it is kinda sad that we have so little variation, when it comes to angels.
So, as I was working on my story, I came up with my own head-canon…in part to have more fun with character designs, but I also ended up working it into the story itself.
Now, angels seem to see themselves as the embodiment of justice, order, righteousness, champions of the light, and they want to look the part. Shining, white wings, gilded armour, the whole thing.
We see high ranking members within angel society like the Archon and Usiel have four wings, which might just be genetic variation. It is possible that angels born with extra wings are highly respected among their kind, perhaps it’s even seen as some sort of divine sign or blessing.
There is also Azrael with his unique wings, which were probably deliberately altered, when he became the Angle of Death. I just doubt he was born with glowing runes on his feathers.
Meanwhile, the wings of soldiers in Darksiders 1 all have a bluish glow and are armoured, giving them an almost artificial look, while Uriel’s glow golden. Still, we can be pretty sure that all angles are born with wings, since there is blood, whenever they are cut off. In the other games, we also encounter more and more angles with natural looking, white wings (Nathaniel, Seventh Legion). You can even see the bone structure in Darksiders 3, when fighting the undead.
We also know that Fallen Angels go through some physical changes, among others, wings turning a dark brown/reddish-brown. This was at least the case for both Abaddon and Astarte.
So, it stands to reason that coloured wings are stigmatized, even if some angels are born with them. To get to the actual head-canon; at first no one probably cared all that much, but as Heaven came into conflict with Hell, as more angels fell, opinions and perceptions may have changed. Now, pretty much any and all colours are associated with impurity and angels with coloured wings are treated more like second class citizens.
If angels have something like nobility or a high society, white wings or multiple wings might even be something families select for. Over the generations this could mean that pearly white wings are the norm for the ruling class, but coloured ones being more common among average citizens/lower class angels.
In the White Army, wings are also kind of part of the uniform, so there is even greater pressure to conform.
Therefore, in order to avoid discrimination and/or to be able to join the army, angels bleach their wings, maybe with a potion, possibly using magic. This would explain why especially lower rank soldiers have glowing wings, while most officers or other high ranking angels have more natural looking ones in game.
Also, it is possible that soldiers occasionally lose wings in battle, or have them amputated after severe injuries and replace them with prosthetic wings instead. Other might deliberately intensify the glow of their feathers to look more divine.
In my story “Pariahs”, the angels Strife meets stopped bleaching their wings after every moult, so he sees them with their natural colours. While some are white, there are plenty of other reminiscent of various birds of prey; eagles, owls, you name it.

Bonus Note from Strife: Do not, DO NOT, tell your angel friend that she reminds you of a plucked pigeon, when she’s moulting.
WIP of the angel Artemis featured in Darksiders Pariahs. Archer/huntress, she is one of the Venatores' leaders, who are specialized in slaying the beasts of hell and abyssal creatures.
Darksiders Factions
Venatores
A part of Heaven’s forces specialized in hunting the beasts of Hell and creatures of the Abyss. They are experts on Hell’s native fauna and employ ambush-style tactics, rather than engaging the opponent head on. Before the treaty, these Hunters fought and lived far behind enemy lines, weakening hostile forces, before Heaven’s army would engage them.
As a result of their countless years away from the White City and angel society in general, they have drifted away culturally from their brethren, adhering to their own code of norms. While not abandoning the laws of their people or those of the Codex Bellum entirely, deviating interpretations or even disregard of some sections, made reintegration difficult, when the Hunters were ordered to return to the White City, after the treaty between the Charred Council and the Kingdoms was forged.
Eventually, the Venatores and other “troublemakers” left the White City to live in a sanctioned cultural enclave, helping to protect the most remote territories of the First Kingdom. Despite the freedoms they enjoy they are merely being tolerated, due to their years of loyal service, and are closely watched. Thus the Hunters must be careful not to invite Heaven’s wrath upon themselves and the other angels, who have chosen to live alongside them. Unfortunately, associating with the Rider of the White Horse does little to ease tensions...
Leaders: Shamsiel, Artemis
Former Leader: Shemazai (KIA)
Most names for the Venatores are taken from/inspired by various fallen angels, punished for teaching humanity knowledge they weren’t supposed to have access to. This includes the Watchers from the book of Enoch, probably best known nowadays for the children they had with humans; the Nephilim.
