Respect your 'Darkle' 🌚✨🌝 It's my word for the 'Dark Sparkle', the shadow that shines within you... we all have the natural dichotomy of light vs. dark within us, and the Darkle can be one of our greatest allies... if you let it. If you ignore your Shadow~ the Darkle looses it's luster and begins to create imbalance within you. Do not ignore the lessons you can learn from looking into your darkness~ true evolution comes when you meet your Shadow with respect and willingness to learn from it. The sense of grief, abandonment, anger, disappointment, loss loneliness, procrastination etc are real for everyone... and it is how you approach all these dark emotions that defines you. When you arrive at these feelings, you are discovering your boundaries, and how you communicate at these crossroads will determine the healthy (or unhealthy) balance in the relationship with yourself and others. Ignoring these boundaries and not using clear, conscious communication, the darkness will fester in you.. creating a monster that can soon hurt you and others. One of the things I love most about the Balinese is their honoring of the Shadow. They look at both the dark and the light, and find life lessons in each. The good spirits and the bad spirits each have deep meaning in their everyday life, and they honor each with equal reverence. They honor the Ogah Ogahs - (the bad spirits) every New Year's Eve, and fully acknowledge their power as they conjour them up in a fury of sound and ceremony~ they build giant monsters to personify the Darkness, they respect and celebrate them, learning from each Ogah Ogah. Traditionally, they burn them as an effigy to transmute the intentions they put into it, then then the whole island immediately falls silent in deep prayer for a full 32 hours to balance the light and the dark. This cleansing ceremony beautifully displays the fullness of the devotion to the self, and the respect given to the full spectrum of the human psyche. Honor your Darkle. Respect your Shadow.
