It wasn’t necessarily that Gosalyn didn’t believe him. This man very clearly was not the sort to make idle threats- she’d known a man like him in her life once before, though maybe not quite this unhinged. But either one of them would hurt a child or worse, and she wasn’t particularly keen on dying today.
So those round green eyes followed his every movement from where she sat in the chair, her legs tucked up against her chest as tightly as she could get them, staying very still.
Brave as she was, she was twelve. It was very hard not to be scared.
“Guess I’m lucky that you need me alive if you want Darkwing, then.” Maybe not the best idea to name her guardian to this guy... but she knew full well what he was after.
