I’m pretty sure it was, and DHJ confirmed on Twitter that Ketch is in 12x17, so we’ll see. Yes I agree that they’ve been building this air of sexual chemistry between Mary and Ketch, and also between Dean and Ketch. I would love to see Cas whoop his ass for touching his husband that’s for sure! And I already said a little in my original post that it’s ridiculous for all the side female characters to have sex/sexual relationships with the male leads (tbfh charlie billie and ellen are the only more-than-twice female characters I can think of but correct me if I’m wrong) But I guess what grinds my gears the most is the fact that bucklemming are using Mary’s sexuality as nothing more than a bit of drama. A bit of drama, I might add, that’s entirely unnecessary! I and certainly others have speculated that the big Theme for this season is that the Winchesters have a way of hunting and it’s different from the BMoL’s way, and that there is conflict there in what’s the “goal” of hunting monsters. Sam and Dean want to save people, that’s the family business. It appears from what we’ve seen so far that the BMoL’s goal is simply to eradicate (from the whole planet? who knows) all monsters/nonhumans. I am completely supportive of Mary Winchester as an adult woman exploring her sexuality. But the fact is that her sexual relationship with Ketch is going to be a conflict for the larger plot when it doesn’t need to be there at all. Sam and Dean are already feeling tense re: Mary’s involvement with BMoL. That’s already established drama/conflict. And furthermore, her sons do not need to be aware of or involved in her sexual relationships, and yet they will be because she’s “sleeping with the enemy.” You KNOW that’s how it’s going to go down in bucklemming-world. And that’s fucking stupid. As I said, Mary is an adult woman who gets to make her own sexual choices. But her relationship with Ketch has been fabricated on nothing but chemistry and service to a Conflict that frankly doesn’t need to be there. Sam and Dean are ready to fight the BMoL on their principles, and now they’re going to spin something in there about having sex with their mom. It’s so fucking outdated and idiotic I’m literally cringing just THINKING about it.
