Today had truly been a day from hell. Ellie's car had gotten a flat tire on her way out to a meeting this morning. The three-hour meeting was nothing but a refusal to engage with the Reynolds Foundation. Engagement was overshadowed by unconfirmed rumors and biases. Despite Eleanor’s best attempt to deny such claims, she was dismissed from the meeting room only to be dressed by black coffee colliding into a mailman on the sidewalk outside the offices. Wrong lunch order, incorrect address, and a contract renewal that had all gone to shit. The icing on the cake was just her simply walking through the park to be accosted by two men who spewed nothing but vitriol her way in regards to her family. Yet as she rounded the path to get away from them, she collided with someone who was eerily dressed like the men before. "Please just leave me the fuck alone! What on earth do you want?"

"What's up, man," Winston greeted, holding out his hand for a handshake. He lifted his other hand, holding up a small bag of candy he'd made earlier. He chuckled, he was like the Santa Claus of candy, constantly showing up somewhere with extras from Salty's. "Had a shit ton left over, so brought you some..." If Darrow didn't eat it, surely his son was. Winston didn't go out often after work, but he'd felt like a drink tonight and when he ran into Darrow earlier, they made plans. "How're you? How's the kid?" He asked as they found a spot at the bar and sat down. "Throw out any crazies from The Prospector lately?"

"you think parents would sign a waiver to let me take the kids out here?" it was perhaps not his best field trip idea - safety reasons and parental concerns considered - but adem had always been fascinated by the way the rock formation behaved. the erraticness of the waves at high tide, how they burst forth from the mouth of the caves as if they truly were the opening to another dimension ( perhaps this was one superstition from people around town that he was willing to entertain - even if he knew that it was nothing more than the rush of water forced through a small opening. ) what was perhaps even more interesting, but often overlooked, was what was uncovered when the ocean swept back during low tide - the tiny creatures that had found a home in such precarious living conditions and thrived - definitely enough to build a lesson around. "when we've got things like this in our backyard - it's a shame not to use them, right?" perhaps darrow wasn't the best person to ask, likely an overly-cautious mom would fit the bill better, but they weren't here at the moment.
