Various characters can be recruited as allies throughout Far Cry 5, with each of them providing support to the player during missions. However, some of these allies are listed as Specialists, and in addition to unique abilities, they also are key characters behind story critical missions, thus encouraging the player to explore and interact with the various individuals in the community of Hope County, expanding the world of the game significantly because of this.
