Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club Welcomes Dart Sponsorship
During the Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club’s season opening event, Start of the Season Blitz, the organization revealed it had a new platinum level sponsor, Dart Enterprises.
On February 11, sixty-five children participated in Kids Gaelic Club’s Start of the Season Blitz event. Taking place on Camana Bay’s football pitch, the day-long event was the organization’s first training session of the year. Split into four different age groups, the sixty-five children had an opportunity to work with several different volunteer coaches and fine-tune their Gaelic football techniques.
To kick off the training session, children were first led through a warm up, and then moved on to movement and agility skills. Later, coaches worked with the children on skills and team based games. And finally, the event concluded with somewhat of a round robin competition among the age groups.
Gaelic football, also known as Peil, is an Irish team sport which is commonly described as a mix between soccer and American football. Played on a grass field, the objective of the game is to earn points by kicking or punching the ball into the opposing team’s goal. And with the event made up of almost half Caymanian children, the coaches noted the group’s quickness in picking up a brand new sport.
In addition to the positive turn out and feedback, the event also included the exciting announcement that Dart Enterprises had become a platinum level sponsor of the club. As an official sponsor of the Cayman Islands Kids Gaelic Football Club, Dart Enterprises will aid the organization in developing Gaelic football among the community in the Cayman Islands. And due to the fact that the club is completely volunteer-based, Dart funding will directly support the development of club training days, school programs and a community outreach program.
