Das Bevo was on the menu for dinner last night. Talk about protein overload in one day. This place was awesome. It was a huge space with a windmill that you could go up in. Many weddings and receptions are also held here so it was really cool just to see the overall space of where they do that and then to also see the restaurant side of it. The top picture is what we first saw and walked passed. The workers were very nice and provided a lot of great information on the food that was given to us. 

The above picture is what the restaurant looked like on the outside. It was really cool. On the inside, you walk into this big area with nice wood high-top tables and low-tops. If you walk downstairs, they have this big reception room with a stage, nice furniture, and a small bar. If you walk upstairs, they have several different rooms where it almost looks like a small apartment. I think all together we went up 3 different levels. The top level was where the windmill was at. Within that level, there was a small staircase that you could go up and see how the windmill turns so that was really cool. We were told that many people hold small wedding ceremony’s up there which I found to be very interesting. Before you go to the very top, the story below has a balcony and we were able to go outside and check that out as well. The staff was super nice and allowed us to look at whatever we wanted. 

Now, I will say that this was definitely not my cup of tea food wise. We had the German Platter. This dish included Grilled G&W Bratwurst and Knackwurst, House Made Sauerkraut, German Potato Salad, Cronin’s Pretzel, a side of Beer Mustard, Beef Roast marinated in Red Wine and Apple Cider Vinegar and Pork Schnitzel with mushroom and bacon gravy. You’ll see the plate pictured below. 

So let's start with the things I did not like about this meal. First thing (which I have never ever liked) is Sauerkraut. I didn't give that a time of day. Next, German Potatoes had too much Vinegar. Pass. The Beef and the Knackwurst were okay, I only took one bite. It wasn't something that I really gravitated towards. Oh my gosh... the mustard was too much. It tasted like Dijon Mustard which normally I would not mind, but this mustard was too strong for my liking. 

Now on to the good stuff. Brats have always been a favorite of mine and it was definitely the first thing I ate. You can never go wrong with a brat. Give me 20 of those. The other thing I really enjoyed was the Pork Schnitzel. It reminded me a lot of country steak. It was super good. The pretzel was my favorite part by far. It was so good. They actually have someone there that specifically makes these soft pretzels and they are to die for. I would have been so happy with just brats and pretzels. haha.

I would also like to note that I was not hungry at this meal. I was still full from the Irish breakfast so that also contributed to why I didn't eat a whole lot. It was definitely nice though to try different things that I had never tried before, but it’s definitely not my thing and I found that out quickly.
