Forgot to thank Dashcon 2 for scheduling on an intermittent moon so the werewolves could attend. It’s really the kind of accessibility and diversity thing that so often goes overlooked.

Alright, now that I've had a few days to recharge my batteries and unwind from the post-con buzz, time for my final thoughts about Dash Con 2:

All in all, an incredibly fun experience! Being transparent about everything was definitely the right move given the reputation of the original Dash Con.

I went in hoping for the best and knowing it would be an interesting experience regardless. And I was right! From the vibes, to the panels, to all the artists and volunteer staff available!

Despite the fact that we were all virtual strangers with nothing but official and unofficial Discord servers to go off from, you could really feel a sense of community in there.

Normally I'm the type who will do my own things at cons. And while I did do that for the most part, I found it a lot easier to make line buddies! We were all just so excited and wanted things to go right.

I find it wild how some people traveled so far. I know I saw somewhere that there was someone from Puerto Rico, and the last person I spoke with at the con was from The Netherlands! First time in North America just for Dash Con 2 when he'd only started being on Tumblr in September!

It's also one of the first cons I've been to where the special guests could just wander about and nobody bothered them too much! Aside from Strange Aeons' impromptu meet and greet that I don't know if she'd planned to do or did because people started just flocking, everyone was respectful of just letting them be!

I saw Xiran Jay Zhao walking by a few times, and even encountered the Muppet Joker in the bathroom without fully realizing that it was in fact the Muppet Joker and not someone else dressed like them.

There were a couple of parents who came all the way over with their kids to support them, and it was great to see them have that kind of support!

Although my bank account might not be the happiest with me right now (don't worry I didn't actually put myself into debt or anything but off to my savings), I have no regrets about the experience as a whole.

I do wish the organizers the best of luck in making something similar again!

Aaaaand the con is now done! There were some highlights from the closing ceremonies, including the fact that not one, not two, but THREE different couples proposed at Dash Con 2.

The same person who won the miku binder also won an extra hour in the ball pit. There were also two people who ended up winning due to shenanigans.

Not to mention the end with Lochlan, the ball pit queen and one of the original creators of Dash Con, dubbing Strange Aeons a knight for victory against the Croaker.

And then Xiran Jay Zhao attempting a coup and running off with Stranger to perform Fight.

I ended off my night with nerd things like Monsters and Modules as one does.

Also, as I forgot to mention earlier, I lost a free keychain that someone gave me that had the colors of the sky in the ball pit. My hubris was my downfall.

It was a very tragic moment. However, in sticking around to see if there was any hope of the volunteers finding the keychain, I was allowed two different mementos I think more than make up for it.

But yeah, the con is done! I might end up posting a pic of my haul later and maybe even thoughts about the con after.

Remember kids: if you want to attend a con for a really popular youtuber, start showing up to form a line at least an hour to forty five minutes in advance

Because the Strange Aeons panel isn’t until one and I’m fairly certain there are more people in line than seats in that room
