For just $509.00 Cimarron Red Dashboard 1953 Motorola 53H Tube AM Radio Excellent Plus Condition! DESCRIPTION: These red 53H's are getting harder and harder find. Tabletop tube AM radio manufactured by Motorola in 1953 in excellent plus condition. This radio is affectionately named the 'dashboard' model. A collectors favorite. Red is most sought after color. All original factory painted red Bakelite not repainted. No modifications, repairs, or repaints. No oversprays or touch ups. None needed. Typically, this model shows its wear and tear with paint loss on the upper front corners. This one has just a tiny bit of paint loss on the upper front corners! How can that be? There are some light spots of discoloration of the red paint but very little on this vintage radio of this age! When we first got this radio, we thought for sure it was repainted because the finish was in such good shiny condition. Picks up AM stations clearly and loudly up and down the dial without need of external antenna attachment. Bakelite cabinet is in excellent plus condition. No cracks, chips, scratches, dents, or dings on the cabinet. This radio is over 60 years old! White metal mesh grill was repainted original white color and is in excellent original condition with no dents, dings, rust, or warping. Motorola label on front speaker grill is in excellent condition. The knobs are in excellent condition. Bright red with little discoloration or fading. The gold metal inserts are original excellent condition. The left gold knob insert has some loss and discoloration but the right side is not tarnished. Please see the photo close-up. No missing ink, smudges, or rub-off on tuning dial lettering. The tuning dial works fine and smooth no slipping. Surprisingly, this model was not design with a tuning dial light. Seems like it should have. All paper and wax capacitors have been replaced with modern equivalents so this radio has another 50+ years or more of playing time!
