The Way Once Wandered | Revamp Closed RP
Hogun harrumphed again against the console of the marauder’s craft they had used. A few hyper-jumps in and it had barely retained enough fuel to get them through the first range of mountains once they had arrived at the Nornir landmass. While he had not anticipated the craft would have the fuel capacity to get them to their destination, he had been hoping that it would have carried them at least half the way.
The trouble with optimism, he thought, was that it so often led to disappointment.
“Fuel’s out,” he reported to the rest of the group crammed into the cabin with him. He checked the instruments as best he could understand for any rogue intrusions on the scanners, but found nothing amiss between the panelled screen and the thick brambles and trees he had eased the craft through. They looked to have evaded the Norn Queen’s security and defenses thus far, but that was likely due to other marauder attacks going on. They probably looked like a drop in the bucket if the attacks on Vanaheim were any example to go by.
“From here on, we are walking,” he said, lowering the ship to land as the fuel gauge pinged its dying warning to them. They stopped with the last flush of exhaust kicking up a dusting of frost from the spindling branches of the trees around them. “Everyone out.”
