She'd been in the school for half a school year already--and in Neopia Central the entire time, unfortunately. She saw the library, bookstore, everyday, and the school library when she got the chance as well. But it still stunned her everytime she saw it. She'd never seen so many books, so well organized, all in one place. . . ! Just there for her to read over and over again--nonmagical so they wouldn't disappear once she finished the last sentence, nor would they push their knowledge and memory into her head. Within reach every single day.
If there was one thing she liked about Neopia Central, it was that getting books was less of a process When she could, she simply stocked up on them, bought them and put them in boxes in her room for when she'd go back home and get to read them at her leisure--in the Darigan Citadel, she had to order them, import them, or hope the shipment of books promised by people who ran the marketplace stalls or small shops out of their own homes arrived. And that they didn't get caught in customs of course.
As it was, she'd been in a library once before coming to Neopia Central, so she luckily knew the proper etiquette for the place. Don't yell, don't run around, and don't bother anyone who's trying to read or study. They needed quiet so they could focus.
The one problem with libraries was that she had too many choices all at once. And today, as she had several times before, Akassuni simply stared at the bookshelves, wandering a bit, keeping quiet as possible, unsure which book she should pull down and read during what remained of lunch period today(or even take with her--borrow, to read later during some free moment in her remaining classes or even at home. . .what foolish people to allow someone to take out a book simply because they promised they'd bring it back! Not that she intended to steal from them. . . .)
