As with every night, because of a habit of her old home, Akassuni left her house and strode down the sidewalk, getting started on an already memorized "circle" through the mostly residential part of Neopia Central. She would leave home, walk around for an hour(or two, or three now and then) and wind up back home once the circle was done. Then, and only then, did she feel she could comfortably sleep.
But if she kept getting into situations like this one, she might have to simply look into getting a hold of a treadmill.
It wasn't a particularly bad situation--merely one that the proud Darigan Uni would have preferred to avoid. She wasn't fond of that she, who sometimes considered going out of her way to avoid speaking to the grounded Neopians at school, kept running into people from there at absurd hours that most "normal" people would probably be asleep, or at least inside and with no intention of leaving home/
Somewhat towards the end of her walk, about seven turns and crosses, if you asked her, there was a quaint little store. She'd never really bothered stopping in--home was well-supplied on most occasions--but if she was calculating correctly(something she liked to think she was doing despite her lackluster skills at math) they would be out of milk the following morning, so she might as well at least check the prices. Perhaps, while she was there, she could get her Dracknack a snack for his good behavior--he was adapting a bit better than she was, and that deserved some recognition, at least.
Pausing to look up at the sound of the bell that indicated a customer's entry(not that they didn't have such things on the Citadel, but it still sounded different), Akassuni strode in, heading towards the refrigerated section. She couldn't help but wince a bit--it wasn't nearly as well-lit outside, of course, especially at this hour. . . .
