NEW mechanical keyboard
I am 56 years old. Initially, I hunt-and-pecked with my index fingers on a light brown portable Smith-Corona manual typewriter my stepfather used in school. Then, when I was a high school junior, I actually LEARNED how to type on another manual typewriter at school, which helped greatly when I took computer classes on the school’s Radio Shack TRS-80’s. In college, I “graduated” to using a Brother EP-43 Personal Electronic typewriter to type both my own papers as well as making some extra money typing others’! In my second job during and after college, my honed typing skills were useful for nine years in an in-bound call center for a national check verification service and consumer credit reporting agency. During my time there, I used several different types of membrane keyboards, some quiet and one original IBM 3278 with one VERY clanky and loud keyboard. Since then, I have used several different types of membrane keyboards both at work and home but NONE of them have had the heft and versatility as my new Das Keyboard 4 Professional for Mac with Cherry MX Brown switches! Unlike the many I have used over the years, this keyboard does not feel cheap and flimsy. And for the price, you better believe I don’t eat or drink any thing near it! I like that the keys are laser-printed, meaning that they won’t wear off EVER and even feel solid. Additionally, the two USB 3.0 ports and volume wheel are a MAJOR plus! Thank you, Das, for creating such a GREAT keyboard which has made typing and writing so much more easier!
