His eyes burned upon exiting the bar for his break, the sunlight a stark contrast to the dim lighting inside the place. But it was a break, a much deserved one after the crowd he had to put up with early on in his day. The time had barely struck afternoon and he already dealt with one too many drunks than he’d care to so he dealt with the blinding rays of the sun just to give him a moment of peace. He ducked his head down to shield them from it and turned his focus to the cigarettes he clutched in his hand. Sloan only just got one of the sticks out of the cart and placed it between his lips when his gaze shifted to fall on a girl he had never seen before. Brown hair, thin, and definitely on the attractive side of the spectrum, but he couldn’t help the small snort of laughter that left him at the sight of her. “You lost or something?” his thick British came out through the question as he formed them around the smoke still situated in his mouth. For once, he didn’t mean anything by the words. He only asked because most people avoided that street when it neared night time and he didn’t exactly blame them for it. Run down would be an understatement to how the place looked. “You really don’t seem the type to be coming down here.” He eyed her for a moment longer before turning his attention back to the lighter in his hand.
