Management in organizations
the managers are coming in different forms but all share the common tasks of working with people and resources to achieve the organizational goal
Organizational goals could be
finding ways to shorten the amount of time it takes a product to leave a warehouse
introducing a new product to the market that makes all previous versions of this type of product obsolete
Managers could be exampled as the foundation support beams and roof of a house, they provide the necessary support from bottom to up as well as their overside to the parts in between.
The roles and responsibilities of Managers make them to have different layers same as onion which comes in different layers although the roles and titles are different in different firms and organisations but typically they are divided to the following group of Management Layers
Top level management:
Consist of senior-level executive of organization, or those positioned hold the most responsibility
job titles Such as
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
President
Vice- President
These top managers set the overall direction of a company and making sure the major organizational objectives are achieved
There leadership role can expand to finance , marketing , human resource and operations
The Second level of Management is called Middle Level Management
this level of management repots to top level management and serve as the head of major departments and their sepcialized units
Middle managers are likely same as a liaison between top managers and the rest of the organization in a very unique way.
They aree more visible to the workeforce and labours than top level managers adn they are the one who perform the strategics of top level managers practical to the low level managers or workforce and the should make sure the workforce achieve what top level management has defined as the goal of the organization
Middle managers are responsible for creating plans to implement the overall goals in the firms. Job titles of middle managers include directors, assistant directors, regional directors, division mangers, deans, branch managers, site managers,and etc.
