Tadashi stretches out and knocks his hand against Kei’sshoulder, not entirely on accident.

Kei reaches out and swats at him, then returns to his studyguide and textbook, lips pursed. Tadashi peers at him from over his ownmaterials, noting the lines of stress and exhaustion on Kei’s face. He feels sofar removed from the stress of finals that he feels weightless and giddy; hewants to move, not just lay on thefloor and highlight note after note.

He inches closer to Kei. “Did you solve the balancingsection?”

“Yeah,” Kei answers mechanically.

Tadashi lays himself up against Kei, resting his cheekbetween Kei’s shoulders. “Then you could take a break,” he murmurs, proddingKei’s side.

Kei flinches away, a high noise escaping his throat. Tadashiholds onto his lover, prodding the ticklish spot again.

“No!” Kei gasps; “Nope! Not now, not today, Satan!”

Tadashi makes a noise of fake indignation; “How dare!”

Kei tries to roll away, but Tadashi latches on, sitting onthe small of Kei’s back. He sticks both hands under Kei’s shirt and tickleshim, holding Kei down with his knees.

Kei flails and knocks his textbook aside, highlightersrolling under the sofa as Kei gasps.

“No! No! Tadashi— stop!” Kei whines, wiggling as he reachesout to try to crawl out from under Tadashi.

Tadashi flops on top of Kei and slips his hands under Kei’sstomach. Kei manages to slide a ways away from him, and Tadashi ends up withhis face pressed against the hem of Kei’s jeans. He holds on anyway, lettinghimself be drug along the wood floor as Kei tries to escape.

“Let go,” Kei complains, voice breathy with laughter. “Oh mygod, Tadashi let go, I have to pee.”

“Do you really,” Tadashi asks, “Or are you trying to escape?”

“We have to study,” Kei retorts, still belly-crawling acrossthe floor.

Tadashi rises to his hands and knees and catches Kei aroundthe waist, tackling him back onto the ground atop their study material. Keishakes with laughter, his voice cracking and tight as he gasps.

“Tadashi, no—stop—“ he wheezes, turning underneath Tadashito face him. “Really—“

Tadashi laughs despite his stomach being  sore from laughing and his mouth dry. Hereaches out and plucks Kei’s glasses off of his face; “I did the math, Tsukki,you’ll pass with like… a thousand points,” he declares, placing Kei’s frames onhis nose.

Kei’s face is fuzzy, butpleasantly pink, behind the stolen lenses. Tadashi peeks under the thickplastic frames, beaming down at Kei’s squinting pout.

“I just did some calculations,” Kei retorts, “And I’ve been able todetermine that you’re full of shit.”

“When did you do that?”

“Now, just now. In my head,” Keireplies, reaching up to grab his frames from Tadashi’s face.

Tadashi sticks his tongue out andlicks Kei’s hand as it passes; Kei shrieks and rubs his palm against Tadashi’scheek, bumping Kei’s glasses askew.

“That’s uncalled for,” Keicomplains, grabbing Tadashi’s shoulders. He flips them over, pinning Tadashi’shands over his head. “All of this is completely uncalled for, you dork.”

“But worth it,” Tadashi leers.

Kei snorts derisively; he presseshis weight into Tadashi’s palms, mouth hovering over Tadashi’s in the ghost ofa kiss. Tadashi tips his head back, eyes fluttering shut in anticipation. Hisbody tingles with excitement and endorphins, but the kiss never comes.

Instead, Kei just plucks hisglasses off of Tadashi’s face with his free hand with a fond, “You little shit.”

Kei hadn’t really prepared for this. He’d prepared formultitudes of other things, though: food, a wide selection of movies (despitethe fact that they always gravitate towards the same three), plenty of drinks,blankets, pillows, whispers to his mother to not bother them, surreptitiousmints to chew on when Tadashi wasn’t in the room (just in case).

And so far, the planning has worked in his favor. They’recurled together in the nest of blankets and pillows they’d piled down on thefloor, watching Spirited Away for what is probably the ten thousandth timesince they’d met. The food was eaten. Kei’s mother had laughingly obeyed heryoungest’s request.

It’s just that… Kei hadn’t quite factored in the part abouthow uncomfortable it could be to cuddle. He feels a bit silly for not thinkingabout it, considering that both he and Tadashi are tall and lanky with sharpelbows and knees.

But he hadn’t thought about it one bit. All he’d worriedabout was that this was their first at-home date since they’d both stumbledthrough confessing their feelings. Everything else was highly scripted andboring in retrospect—dinner, movies, walks in the park—but they’d beennerve-wracking enough that Kei had dropped ice-cream all over Tadashi on theirfirst date. (The second one, he walked too close and stepped on Tadashi’s shoelace, tripping them both. The third was inadvertently crashed by Hinata andKageyama, which spurred the invitation to Kei’s house for a movie night.)

He’d really wanted to get this right and have a cute, nondisastrous date.

And it could have been one!

Except his hand is starting to tingle. It’s not like Kei’suncomfortable, though—far from it. Sure, there had been some awkwardnessgetting situated, long limbs and pointed elbows in the way, but Kei wascomfortable with Tadashi’s back to his chest, his cheek on Kei’s forearm.

Kei wiggles just a little, Tadashi’s hair tickling his nose.

“Whassamatter?” Tadashi yawns, leaning back further againstKei.

Kei feels his face warm, stomach flipping into his mouth;Tadashi’s too embarrassingly cute, and Kei definitely can’t let the tingling inhis fingers ruin this. “Nothing,” he says.

“Mmkay,” Tadashi mumbles, nuzzling his cheek against thecrook of Kei’s elbow, abandoning all pretenses at watching the movie in orderto snuggle against Kei.

Kei rests his chin on Tadashi’s head, curling and uncurlinghis fingers slowly to keep the buzzing feeling away. It doesn’t really help, sohe stops. “Are you sleeping?” “Snore, snore,” Tadashi mumbles against the crook of Kei’s elbow.

Kei huffs, part sigh and part laughter. He slides his thumbslowly under the hem of Tadashi’s shirt, rubbing slow circles against thewarmth of Tadashi’s skin. “I see,” he murmurs.

Tadashi doesn’t answer—Kei supposes he’s too busy pretendingto be asleep. Despite the even breaths and general stillness of his boyfriend,Kei knows Tadashi’s not asleep from the way Tadashi deliberately wiggles everytime Kei stops the slow pattern of his thumb and the curve of Tadashi’s lipsagainst skin.

It’s incredibly endearing. Kei would be content to sit andplay the game all night, honestly. He’s started to inch his hand up higher eachtime Tadashi wiggles in protest; each time, Tadashi presses his face closer,muffling quiet giggles.

Kei can’t feel his hand anymore—or rather, he feels the lackof sensation like a cramp. Tadashi shifts, and suddenly his hand is all pinsand needles and pain, and he really can’t take it anymore. “Ah… Yamaguchi,” hesays, face coloring in embarrassment. “I’m sorry… but my hand’s asleep. Can you move?”

“Oops, sorry, Tsukki,” Tadashi murmurs, rolling off of Kei’shand. He sits up slowly, frowning as Kei grunts and presses his thumb into hispalm. “... Is it really that bad? Tsukki,” he scolds. “Say something next time.”

Kei scowls up at Tadashi, “I didn’t want to ruin the mood,”he complains.

Tadashi makes a show of rolling his eyes before curling nextto Kei, knees knocking together painfully. “Ok, put your arm over my head this time—andsay something.”

Kei laughs at Tadashi’s serious tone and pout, lettingTadashi arrange them so they’re nose-to-nose. “You’re not even watching themovie.”

“Neither are you.”

Kei smirks, delicately wiggling the last of the static painfrom his fingers; maybe the date wasn’t ruined after all.

god i just went on a skype rant about this but I WISH MY BOSS & COWORKERS WOULD LISTEN TO ME ABOUT PLANNING OUR PARIS TRIP >C i’ve been asking them for months what they wanna do, whether they wanna do group things, and after a whole lot of nothing, i planned my own fuckin trip. and now i’m expected to bend over backwards to play nice with them since they’re just now coming up with their own plans??? Aha well I used to be in choir for 6 and a half years! I really do like to sing though i never really liked my voice. I’m always singing in the car while I drive.

1: what inspires you?

lots of things! usually its a pretty strong dream i have that gets something kickstarted, or i see a tumblr prompt. music, sometimes, too but those usually just push an idea forward or boost it rather than start it entirely.

16: do you ever hand write? why or why not?

NEVER. my handwriting is absolutely AWFUL. also i just dont like the extra work involved with transcribing it all

17: do you listen to music while you write?

yes! nine times out of ten! either instrumental or with vocals, totally depends on my mood.
