The role You will be an essential member of a team of Network and Systems Software Engineers, responsible for the company's Service Monitoring Systems. The team focus on GX network data sources, to collect and process GX terminal and network performance information to produce tools, (interactive) reports, and dashboards which provide Operational Intelligence (OI) on the GX service for operations staff, engineers and BU managers. A key role of this post will be to develop key GX terminal and network KPIs as well as Service Level and Service Assurance reports. The initial focus will be on a wholesale view of GX using existing sources of operational performance data. Over time, the role will help specify potential new data sources to extend reporting capabilities to broaden the reports based on user requirements to provide market reports. Responsibilities * Development of GX Operational Intelligence (OI) tools and reports * Projections with visualisation of network capacity usage * Creation of interactive dashboards showing bandwidth usage at GSP and SSPC level/ usage at Region, beam, terminal level/ terminal population and maritime and Aviation terminal routes * Trend reporting with a view to the (early) identification of network issues * SLA reporting based on CIR and MIR at global, regional, beam and terminal level * Migrate existing legacy reports into Tableau while building new reports from a Cassandra data repository * Help to develop and manage the Tableau semantic layer through reusable data sources. * Utilize blended data from multiple sources to discover new opportunities. The person You will be a problem-solver and have a solution-driven mind, with the ability to communicate effectively; both in a technical environment and with business-minded people. Skills / experience required: * BSc. required, preferably MSc. Degree, in either Computer Science or an Engineering discipline * Proven exposure to & advanced skills in Tableau, with several tangible projects under your belt * An extensive background within data analysis (desirably, within a telecoms or engineering environment) * Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a corporate environment * Strong knowledge of best practices around dashboards and report visualization * A proactive and solution-oriented approach with attention to detail * Good Linux / UNIX background, in particular Redhat/CentOS. * Working knowledge of SQL and Databases * Scripting and task automation using Python This vacancy is being advertised by Advanced Resource Managers.
