This Berlin company was born a decade ago. It has more than 175 million users - more than any other service - but most of them are there for free. SoundCloud is used by DJs and fans of electronic music, and its user-generated content is a key differentiator.

But this company has had frequent financial problems, forcing it to introduce advertising in 2014 and, a year later, a subscription that removes it for about $ 10 (SoundCloud Go).

She had to lay off more than 170 employees last July and petitioned her investors to rescue her from bankruptcy. Its value fell from $ 700 million to $ 150 million.

Pandora

Pandora (P) is a streaming radio service available only in the United States.
