Just imagine your favorite dateable(s) holding you close with his\her\their ear to your chest listening to the sound of your heart beating.

There are a few that come to mind that I think specifically would be all for listening to your heart beat (including some of my object ocs, because why not). (Though if I’m being honest I think most (if not all) of them would probably enjoy it to some extent.)

Canon Characters (general spoiler warning, some of these may or may not veer into late stages of route\love ending territory for some of the characters. Proceed with caution):

Teddy- he seems a bit obvious, but that doesn't stop it from being sweet to think about. He's a teddy bear, he is likely very used to being held close enough to hear your heart when you're sleeping. But that doesn't stop him from loving every second of it when presented with the opportunity.

The Hanks- I don't have any particular reasoning for them, just the vibe I get. Just imagine, himbo cuddle pile and one of them just has his head nestled snuggly against your chest listening intently to your heart.

Skips- You can't convince me that he wouldn't be all for laying against you (either in bed or on the couch while watching stuff) with his head against your chest so he could listen to your heart. He finds it soothing to listen to. (And if you run your hands through his hair while he’s laying against you he would be so happy, and probably would have a major blush going on.)

Hector- He is another one that is kind of obvious. Maybe it’s something that would happen more after being realized, mainly because he might feel bad with how clunky he is pre realization. Not to say it wouldn’t happen at all pre realization, he just might be more worried because of how his body is at that point. But don’t let that fool you, he is a sucker for it and absolutely loves it when he is able to sit/lay there with you with his ear against your chest and listen to your heart. Also would practically melt if you played with his hair during those moments.

Zoey- Yes, this is mainly because she's a ghost. And I think it's really cute when ghost\undead characters are completely enamored by the simplest aspects of their living partners. In Zoey's case I also imagine there is a dash of missing it from when she was previously alive, a sort of "didn't know what I had until I lost it" type of situation. So now she will just sit there with you and listen to your heart whenever she can.

Betty- You look me in the eye and tell me Betty wouldn't love to have her head against your chest and listen to your heart while cuddling. Especially if you gently run your hand up and down her back.

Eddie & Volt- Ok, these 2 may be here because of stuff I’ve seen and liked in others fanfics and headcanons. They are both probably used to hearing the constant hum of electricity around them, so the chance to listen to your heart beat is a welcomed change. When he’s particularly stressed Eddie would love nothing more than for you to just hold him close as he lays his head against your chest and listens to your heart. He will definitely fall asleep like that. Volt doesn’t really need a reason. Expect him to pull you into hugs where he is easily able to rest his head against your chest to listen to the rhythmic beating. Do hug him back, it’ll make him especially happy. (Maybe refrain from running your hands through his hair pre realization, though brushing away a few strands here and there can’t hurt (much). Post realization though? Yes, that’d just make the moment even more special for him!) Regardless of which of them it is, they both find the sound the most calming thing on earth.

Mac- Another one where I have no real reason and am purely basing this on vibe. They might not go out of their way to seek it out, but I’m convinced they’d definitely enjoy it.

My Object OCs (these two are specifically intended to be read as either platonic or romantic):

Griselda (weed grinder)- If they are comfortable enough around/with you then odds are that she ends up snuggled up to you at one point or another while high, especially if sitting next to one another. The rhythm of your heat beat mixed with the way your chest rises and falls with your breathing helps ground them if they get too high/get a bad high. Though most of the time it is purely because she likes the closeness.

Trixie (trinket box)- Normally she’d likely be the one being rested against (and she doesn’t mind one bit), but sometimes she likes to be on the receiving end. This is especially true whenever she falls back into her habit of losing sleep worrying about her cousin. Just sit on the ground with her, let her lean against you, and wrap your arms around her. No words need to be said, she’ll be content just listening to your heart and your breathing. That being said, talking won’t hurt anything. Talk about whatever (as long as it won’t make her worrying worse) while the two of you are like this. While she may not fully pay attention to your words she enjoys the company (and your effort) all the same. High chance of her falling asleep like that, meaning you’ll be stuck there for a while.

// NEW DATEABLE OC // SUNNY

Before I start, I want to give a huge thank you to @/Llumos for being Sunny to life for me! Llumos always takes my idea and makes them better than anything I could have asked for. So giving all my love and affection to them for this piece!

HERE SHE IS! My Sunny — the Sony girl.

I couldn't type everything in her Date-A-Dex page but, here is more information about her below~

She knows most — if not all — East Asian languages fluently.

Like the company, Sunny is originally from Japan. Her English is a little broken, but it doesn't stop her or make her embarrassed.

Her personality is more modeled after Baby Metal. While she is bubbly and bright on the outside, she still has an sharp edge to her that doesn't fuck around. Which can be very scary when pushed.

She won't admit it, but metal is her favorite genre of music.

Sunny very much wants to be human so she can produce music and DJ as a pass time.

Sunny has vocal cords gifted to her by the gods. So much so, that her singing even makes people who hate music (Dorian) content. However, she's very secretive about her singing and doesn't like to be heard — unless she gets lost in her head and forgets where she is and starts singing aimlessly.

Y'all know about synesthesia? It’s ok if you don’t, but you may want to go look it up before reading the rest of this post. (I’d explain it myself, but I only know enough about it to (hopefully) make this post make sense. I fear an explanation from me would not do it any justice.)

Anyway, I randomly remembered someone I saw on TikTok that had it and how it affected them was that they could taste music. (I think that’s how it was explained. I don’t recall if it was only music that triggered it or if others sounds did as well, but their videos were of them listening to different songs and describing the taste they got from them.) Naturally my brain took that memory and morphed it into the thought of the homeowner having synesthesia. Since this thought originated from someone who tastes sound, let’s say this hypothetical homeowner can either taste or smell voices.

Regardless of if that information spread amongst the dateables prior to the homeowner getting the dateviators or after doesn’t fully matter. What matters is that they all end up knowing, and some are curious about what their voice tastes/smells like to the homeowner. Can’t say everyone is happy with the answer they get, but it’s not like homeowner can control it. Some don’t ever ask, or they ask after the homeowner achieved friendship/love with them. Sometimes the homeowner might not fully think it through and just let it slip while talking to some of them. And yeah, some of them might have similar/overlapping scents/tastes (kinda like how some people have similar voices).

Here is what I think some of them dateables’ voices would smell/taste like for this hypothetical homeowner (including my object OCs, because why the hell not):

(Gonna be honesty, MOST of these have no real reason for why I picked them.)

Shadowlord/Skips- Tastes like chocolate and huckleberries (where I live we have a candy called huckleberry gems, and that is exactly what I was imagining here), smells like a fall night heavy rain storm. As Shadowlord the chocolate tastes more like dark chocolate and overpowers the huckleberry a bit, and the storm smells heavier/stronger. As Skips the chocolate tastes is more like milk chocolate, and the storm smells less intense. (I really hope the storm smell parts made sense to anyone besides just me.)

The Hanks- They all taste and smell like different (good) artificial fruit flavored candies. H1nk is lemon, H2nk is cherry, H3nk is raspberry, H4nk is grape, and H5nk is apple. (Yes, this is partially based on the main colors of their outfits. But also I just really like the idea of associating them with the good tasting artificial fruit flavors for some reason.)

Freddy- tastes like cheesecake, smells like cold (to me cold smells sharp, if that even makes any sense).

Lyric- tastes like vanilla chai, smells like dried ink (kinda an obvious one I know, idc).

Skylar- tastes like strawberry lemonade hard candy, smells like lemon air freshener.

Eddie & Volt- Volt tastes like pop rocks (cotton candy ones because they are my favorite), and smells like a thunderstorm (it makes sense to me). Eddie tastes like chocolate covered cherries, and smells like warm (to me warm/heat smells flat, again if that makes any sense).

Kopi- tastes and smells like a nice warm hazelnut mocha (yes, another semi obvious one).

Penelope- tastes like butterscotch hard candies, smells like warm paper fresh from a printer.

Mateo- tastes like cinnamon honey butter, smells like fresh linen.

Gaia- tastes like a those chocolate covered jelly sticks (one of the oranges ones specifically), smells like shoe polish.

(On to my OCs)

Griselda- tastes like cream soda, smells like pine trees (yeah, I was not about to make her voice smell like weed even if they’re a weed grinder).

Minerva- tastes like pumpkin pie, smells like caramel.

Trixie- tastes like banana bread, smells like slightly burnt wood (in a good way).

Brenna- tastes like warm snickerdoodles, smells like warm marshmallows .

Cassie- tastes like truck stop diner blueberry pancakes, smells like peppermint candies.

Ember- tastes like mint chocolate cupcakes, smells like warm unscented wax. (seems obvious for someone who is literally candles, but she already naturally smells like whatever scented candle my homeowner sona had last lit, so I figured (in this hypothetical scenario) that her voice would have a more neutral smell. Don’t ask why her voice tastes the way it does, that was literally the first thing that came to mind and it stuck.)

If any of you have any ideas for characters I didn’t mention feel free to share them (include your OCs as well if you want), or even if you have different ideas for the ones I did mention. I’d love to hear yall’s input.

I just realized the perfect name for my OC x Barry fan kid! Sally! Like the beauty supply store\brand (and partially because of the Sally's Salon games). Very fitting since she's hair styling tools.

Oh the joys of suddenly coming up with development for one of your fan OCs while working on something and what was meant to be a small segment is now longer than you intended because the character freaking possessed you while writing. Not mad about it though, because it ended up being really sweet and helped me figure stuff out about Trixie. (Plus it is nowhere near as long as what basically became a mini fic when I was writing how I think one of my other OCs, Minerva, and Barry would be friends.)

Random bit of lore for my OC Minerva, specifically the version of her I use for Date Everything stuff (along with a funny mental image I had that sorta inspired this post).

Since she likes to design and make clothes I imagine she has asked other objects in the house to model some for her. Makes sense right? Well, while I was working some more on my post of canon characters I think my OCs would be friends with (big post, gonna take me a long while to actually get it done) I was struck with the oh so wonderful idea of Minerva convincing the Hanks to model designs for her. I honestly think it wouldn’t take much convincing for them to agree to it (idk why, I just feel it in my bones). Her portfolio has at least 1 photo of one of the Hanks in a sexy Jessica Rabbit inspired dress in his main color. (gonna leave which specific Hank it is up to everyone’s imagination)

Had an interesting thought in regards to my object sona's relationship to the homeowner.

While specifically I was thinking about it with my homeowner oc Ant, I feel like this could apply with any variation of the homeowner.

My object sona is a representation of a form of creativity, but she started out of the homeowner's imaginary friend. (I've stated this before, I know. I just wanted to give context for anyone who is seeing this post first.) She was created by the homeowner, and I can just imagine an interaction where they talk about that and there ends up being a dialogue option for the homeowner\player to ask if\imply that makes them her parent. That would immediately lock someone out of getting a love ending with her (especially if they lean into it).

Although, even if that dialogue option isn't picked if they stick with her friend ending I imagine she'd still jokingly\sarcastically refer to the homeowner\player mom\dad\parent when talking to them.
