KARACHI: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has notified seven days extension in the date to file withholding tax (WHT) statements for the tax year 2016 till July 22.
“The FBR has extended the date of filing withholding tax statement, which was due on July 15, 2016 under the provisions of Section 165(2) of the Income Tax Ordinance till July 22, 2016”, a notification read.

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday extended the last date up to August 15 for banks to clear currency authentication machines from the central bank.
A notification issued by the central bank said that the banks had requested for extension in time for completion of machine selection process, including the demo at the SBP.
The central bank said that the deadline would also be applicable for the banks having arrangements with other banks to get their cash processed.
Earlier, the central bank warned the banks of legal action in case currency authentication machines were not clarified by June 30.
The State Bank of Pakistan in August 2015 launched "Currency Management Strategy" with the objectives of disbursing authenticated cash through machines installed by the commercial banks.
