Ushijima → you don't even know that you're dating. He came up to you and said “you're not as annoying as the rest, I'm glad you came to Shiratorizawa” and then walked off. To him that was a confession of love and meant that the two of you were dating. It wasn't until he became really possessive over you when you spoke to other guys did you finally figure out why. When you guys actually date he still remains possessive and talks down to you if you speak to any other guy.

Tendou → jealous, like really jealous. It stems from insecurity because he's so scared that you'll leave him. So to prevent that he hovers over you all the time and refuses to let you have male/guy friends cause he perceives them as a threat :/

Semi → purposefully causes arguments so he can feel emotional and write a song about it. You're his dirty little secret, the world doesn't know about you and he wants to keep it that way. After his concerts he always has a one night stand but his reasoning is that you shouldn’t care cause you’re the only one he’ll fuck more than once. 

Shirabu → he's a bitch. He gets insecure a lot and takes it out on you, making snide comments about your appearance. He’s also jealous of you, not other guys, that's partly where his insecurities stem from. 

Kawanishi → dates you so you can do his homework/uni projects for him. Also for your money, he likes free food and coffee. 

Goshiki → impulsive and gets easily heated. He also can't take any form of criticism. He once bought you a $600 volleyball - made of like gold or something, and was upset when you didn't immediately fall in love with it. 

Bokuto → man baby. Can't do anything. Needs you to do it for him. Also can't take criticism. Make one offhand comment and he’s wallowing in the pits of despair, curled up in a ball on the couch and pitying himself. Seriously, you could say something like “Kou why can't you clean up your own dishes?” and boom, he’s sulking on the couch.

Akaashi → treats you like a child, kind of like how he treats bokuto. You feel more like a daughter or something with how he always seems to step on eggshells around you to make sure you don’t act in a way that could be bothersome for him. He probably insults your intelligence as well. 

Konoha → doesn't know what a period is. He’s one of those reddit boys who bitches about their s/o and how they act on their period. Even if you don't get a period he’s still a bitch, he acts like every minor inconvenience is caused by you and he rants about it on reddit. 

Atsumu → he’s like Oikawa. An absolute fuckboy. Flirts with everyone and a chronic cheater. He doesn't even pretend to be sad when he’s caught, he just asks if you want to join.  

Osamu → he has trust issues. At first he thinks you're using him to get to his brother. He’s also lazy and can't clean up after himself. 

Kita → he has traditional views. Definitely believes in gender roles and wants you to be his subservient s/o. It doesn’t matter if you’re cis/girl/guy/nb (gender is a social construct) he is the man of the house and he will be the breadwinner while you tend to the house. Expects you to take care of his needs. 

Aran → he talks down to you. If you try to crack a joke he pulls it apart. Seriously, you've got to have no humour with him because for some reason he really likes to tear it to shreds. 

Suna → lazy. One worded replies, never texts first, ‘bros over hoes’ attitude. He treats you as a second class citizen for him to step all over. 

Terushima → coerced you into dating him. Not joking. He's a pushy fucker. Has probably tried to force you to do things, luckily you have been able to set boundaries - whether or not you need help from friends depends on you. 

Kiyoko → ignores you. She loves to give you the silent treatment because she likes the power of it. She uses it after arguments to ‘put you in your place’ and get you to come to her first. 

Yachi → she’s not emotionally ready for a relationship. She's a nervous wreck and is constantly jumping to conclusions that can be harmful for the both of you. 

Daishou → he’s canonically a cheater - well, in volleyball, so he definitely lies to you and manipulates you to get what he wants. 

Futakuchi → reddit incel. Is there anything more to say? He’s one of those ‘pick me’ guys who complain about being so nice only to have no dates. Average looking, below-average personality. He’s posted something like this before.

Aone → like Kiyoko, he plays the silent game, not because he wants to get on your nerves, he just expects you to know what he wants/is thinking with a simple look/without saying something. 

Sakusa → he’s disgusted by your germs. Don't touch him. It takes a long time for him to get used to your germs and accept them. He refuses to look after you on your period, too afraid that he’ll get covered in blood. Don't even think he’d look after you if you were sick.

Komori → he bitches about you to others, and he over exaggerates everything.

❊ karasuno

⤷ suga never forgets someone’s name, he usually associates them with their face or their voice! (very handy during the time skip!)

⤷ daichi can fold anything, from parkas to fitted sheets. the team definitely tested him once and asked him to fold the volleyball nets, and he did perfectly. (marie kondo found shaking in her boots)

⤷ asahi can read maps, as in he has a really good grasp of how to read those maps printed out for tourists (which i usually disregard and just use it to look at what places to go to) never gets lost when traveling.

⤷ tanaka, not really a talent but he genetically can never get brain freeze. he can chug all the slushie he wants, he's never getting it.

⤷ noya always puts the plug or usb in the right way on the first try, always.

⤷ hinata can rap really really fast. people don't usually understand what he's saying, but he gets all the words right.

⤷ kageyama can grab/pick up most anything with his toes :)

⤷ tsukki can move his ear independent from his face, though no one has caught him doing it yet.

⤷ yamaguchi can make hyper-realistic bird sounds <3

⤷ oikawa can walk in heels perfectly, he tried wearing his sister's pair one time and just loved it.

⤷ iwaizumi can twist the cherry stem into a knot using his tongue, he says its useless but oikawa believes otherwise ;)

⤷ hanamaki can whistle with his fingers, it's really really loud.

⤷ matsukawa can eat any spicy food without breaking a sweat.

⤷ kunimi can hold his breath underwater for more than a minute.

⤷ kindaichi folds the prettiest paper cranes, he once tried making a thousand but got lazy lol

❊ shiratorizawa

⤷ ushijima sings really well. he likes singing along to the songs on the radio while driving in his car or while tending to his plants.

⤷ tendou picks up on accents easily, so he can imitate different languages quite perfectly (mon français bébé!)

⤷ semi can actually bake pretty well, he especially likes baking with his younger sister.

⤷ shirabu can spin anything around his fingers but has a habit of spinning his pen around his thumb when he's focusing.

⤷ goshiki draws really well! he's been drawing ever since he was a kid and his parents still have some of his drawings up on their wall imo so cute. lately, he mostly draws on his notebooks or random pieces of paper as a hobby.

⤷ kuroo can wake up from a nap at the exact time he planned to. like when he sets an alarm for 12 minutes, he wakes up just as the alarm goes off.

⤷ kenma can sense small/weak earthquakes like he feels the vibrations (??) and can sometimes see things slightly shake

⤷ yaku can draw a perfect circle anywhere

⤷ inouka can make a cartoon-like popping sound with just his lips or sometimes pops his lips with his finger

⤷ lev never spills anything he's pouring. like he can fill a glass to the brim but nothing spills.

⤷ bokuto is really good with google games, especially the dinosaur game! his highest score? 3,577 lol

⤷ akaashi can recognize fonts and knows them by name <3

❊ inarizaki

⤷ suna has an amazing memory like he memorized the table of elements in a day back when he was in elementary. he also memorizes some of his friends' phone numbers for some reason.

⤷ atsumu can type on his phone really really fast. one time his team decided to test him so they read off one of their books as he typed away on his phone. he sent the message just as they finished reading lol

⤷ osamu organizes the groceries in the bag better than any bagger in the store. his pet peeve is when baggers just throw in his groceries without any thought. yes samu big boxy products in the bag first, always!

⤷ kita can untangle any knot, any knot. he once spent an hour untangling a volleyball net while the rest of the team looked on at him with both curiosity and wonder.

⤷ aran can chop vegetables like the chefs on tv like he can mince, dice, brunoise, chiffonade, and julienne like a pro. *chefs kiss*

⤷ sakusa takes really great pictures, he knows the right angles and actually knows how to use the different settings on his phone’s camera

⤷ komori can play guitar and ukelele!! he likes learning the chords to cute songs like sunkissed !

⤷ aone is really good at sudoku, he has a sudoku book at home and he solves the puzzle when he's bored

⤷ futakuchi can cry on cue also good at making people cry

⤷ koganegawa can recognize people solely by the sound of their footsteps (get it solely...)

Headcanon that whenever Dateko has a scrimmage, on the bus ride there, Koganegawa never shuts his trap about how they’re gonna win.

And every time they’re against an insane team, Futakuchi just shuts his ass down.

First of all I think he’s also quite shy? Especially outside of volleyball, so it took him quite some courage to ask you out (cuuute)

From the first moment he saw you he was just bewitched by your whole existence. The way you fiddle with your hands when talking to someone? When you awkwardly look on your feet because you feel embarrassed? Your tiny figure? He’s in love

Y’all look so cute together when you’re in public because he’s HUGE and you just look hilariously tiny next to him

But he loves holding your hand!! It’s so small and you always have sweater paws because of your fiddling and honestly when you grabbed for his hand the first time he was blushing like crazy and he just malfunctioned for several moments... What a big softie

Your size and shyness also awakens his instinct to protect you from everyone and everything! Like when Koganegawa comes up to you and starts rambling like crazy and asks you SO many questions and you just look so overwhelmed by his whole existence Aone steps in and you just smile softly to yourself because your boyfriend is the cutest :)) Or just generally when you look a little uncomfortable talking to someone or something like that he just grunts and will occasionally even speak to the people and tell them to back off!

I thing generally you would stay inside a lot? Not that many dates outside because sometimes people are scared of him and it makes him uncomfortable (aaw, please no :c). Even though you try to comfort him as best as possible, he still likes to just cuddle up on the couch with you and watch Disney movies until you both fall asleep.

He just loves holding you (is 9/10 times the big spoon except when he’s really really tired and exhausted) because you’re so small and adorable and just... He might combust because of you (in the best way possible, of course)

So basically, the softest relationship ever!!

Sakunami is good at climbing like, really good 🌳

Maybe his home is on the outskirts of town near a small forest section where he often used to play with his friends back in elementary and middle school.

His current teammates in high school only found out by chance when, one afternoon, they sprinted up a nearby hill as endurance training.

Their meeting point was the only tree that grew on top of the hill. As everyone gradually arrived, Kamasaki bet Futakuchi out of the blue that he could climb the tree faster than he could. It didn’t take long to persuade him, so the team had to watch both boys taking turns at climbing, relieved for the extended break from training. Sasaya was timing, thoroughly enjoying their daily dispute, while Moniwa could only let out a loud sigh. When will they ever stop...

Kamasaki beat his junior by 15 seconds and mocks Futakuchi ruthlessly who could only click his tongue and look away in bitterness. The whole time Sakunami couldn’t hold back his grin which basically said “41 seconds? How cute”. However, that did not escape Futakuchi’s notice.

As Moniwa was about to send everyone back to the foot of the hill, Futakuchi jokingly challenged their libero, “How about you climb up that tree, huh?”, still kind of salty about his loss.

Sakunami just nonchalantly shrugged his shoulders and, before you knew it, he was sitting in the tree crown, dangling his feet from the highest branch while smirking at his speechless teammates.

Moniwa and Dateko careers headcanon

(minor manga spoilers)

I headcanon that Moniwa is the CEO of a small construction business with almost all of the Dateko vbc as his employees.

Futakuchi isn't included because he's at an electric company 😞

But think about the chaos and Moniwa trying to keep them all in lines just like in high school

And I'm pretty sure that Date Tech is a vocational school (wiki link) because of the Dateko vbc's careers and the "Tech" in the school name.

So that's what I'm going with for Operation Moniwa SMAU. (And I realized my SMAUs aren't really AUs because I like keeping everything pretty close to canon.)

HAIKYUU [ headcanons ]

as opposed to the team headcanon lists, this ones gonna be a mess w/ a mix of characters ranging from managers, first-years-as-third-years, third-years-as-first-years, third gym headcanons, etc. etc. (general team headcanons’ll go here as well, regardless of what team they are.)

also, unlike the team headcanon lists, i will not be tagging specific characters here. ditto for other fandoms... hm... actually, depending on the fandom, i guess

apologies ahead of time for the mess!

- esp. during bus trips to tournaments or training camps, karasuno’d sing show tunes (like Hamilton, Legally Blonde, and Wicked), Disney songs, and have rap battles (thought this was mostly tanaka, nishinoya, and the first years (tsukishima’d slay EVERYONE!)

- yachi and kiyoko’d esp. lead singing show tunes.

- the karasuno team, just before departure for another Tokyo Training Camp, decide to hide hinata in the luggage compartment above his seat. yes, they did scare poor takeda. [can be used in the canon timeline or not.]

- second and third years in college visiting their first-years-now-third-years, checking up on them. they get roped into playing a friendly vball game w/ the canon karasuno against the new first and second years.

- wild pep rallies w/ hinata riding kageyama’s shoulders, the third years chanting lame cheers, tanaka dragging noya across the floor while noya cheers some sort of rendition of his “rolllingggg thunderrrrrrr!!!”, asahi having a heart attack bc of them, hinata and kags roping yamaguchi and tsukki into getting the school population pumped, and our lovely managers at the mic introducing the team members. [ read more under the cut ]

- yachi, kiyoko, and hinata (hey! he’s has to learn how to braid natsu’s hair; why not asahi’s?), and sugawara (bc #teammom) all braiding asahi’s hair before bed. (noya and probably hinata: “HVAE YOU SEEN HIS HAIR THO?!”) ↳ maybe kageyama comes back from his bath and sees hinata braiding asahi’s hair and goes “i bet you 2 pork buns that my braid’ll be better than your braid.” and so they have a contest to see who’s braid noya likes best. noya chooses hinata’s braid. “shoyo’s had more experience doing hair what w/ his lil sis and all. sorry, man! you’ll get him next time tho! lLIKE GWUN!"

- literally everyone (well, ok. not tsukishima.... maybe) is s o b b i n g the day daichi announces that the third years are retiring, leaving ennoshita has captain. yachi probs sobs the most out of everyone. like “S-S-SHIMI-SHUMIZI-ZAN!!!” (from: the day the 9th-11th grade girls threw us sending off/happy graduation party instead of having one final gym class. we were all sobbing.)

- the first-years-now-third-years get midnight pizza cravings at training camp (teams: karasuno, dateko, seijoh, shiratorizawa). they sneak into the kitchen to make their pizza HAHAHA NO THEY DON’T! they do (hc: former kitagawa daiichi trio - kunimi, kags, and kindaichi - are hella good cooks. kindaichi challenges kags to a pizza dough twirling contest (these dumb, cute boys) (like those italian chefs). kindaichi fails miserably but it turns out to be a cute heart shape so they just roll w/ it and bake it anyway.)

- b/t dinner and bedtime/baths, kiyoko, yachi, and the other managers (shinzen and fukurodani) find a piano (maybe its nekoma’s... maybe its shinzen’s) and have jam sessions w/ various pop songs and varying music tastes.
