“Ah’m fine. Ah’m ain’t tired. Ah ain’t hurt. Ah’m just –” Rebecca cut herself off, shaking her head as she tried to clear her thoughts. She felt dizzy and confused, but….Not necessarily hurt. “Ah’m fine.”

“Right,” Ororo drawled, taking in the girl’s frazzled state. “You’re perfectly fine and ready to run a marathon, but before that why not get off your feet? Just for an hour or two, I promise to wake you if anything important happens.” She was genuinely concerned for Rebecca. Hopefully, that concern didn’t come off as pushy, or the young woman might not listen to reason. “Please, humor your fussy sort of aunt.”

“Jeez, man, I’m surrounded by amateurs. You want something done, you’ve got to do it yourself.”

“Isn’t that usually something that gets most people killed or injured?”,she asked. An eyebrow raised as she turned to Rebecca. Kimiko tilted her head as she asked,”What exactly are you doing anyway?”

I love how humorous you make them without really losing their villainy. Your characters always make me laugh, but the stories of their actions and everything behind them are still interesting
